Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

NightmareZ, developed and published by Anamik Majumdar, is a side-scrolling action platformer that draws heavily from older generations of arcade-inspired game design while delivering a darker fantasy adventure centered around combat, exploration, and demanding gameplay. Built with clear inspiration from retro action titles, it embraces challenge as one of its defining qualities. Rather than prioritizing accessibility or heavily guided progression, NightmareZ focuses on rewarding patience, precision, and mechanical mastery through difficult encounters and unforgiving level design. The game takes players into a world devastated by supernatural corruption where monsters and dark forces have pushed civilization toward collapse. Players step into the role of Razor, a warrior carrying mysterious powers tied directly to the darkness consuming the world around him. Personal tragedy shapes much of his journey, as past losses and unanswered questions surrounding his origins drive him deeper into dangerous territories filled with hostile enemies and hidden truths. The narrative follows a familiar dark fantasy structure involving revenge, discovery, and a struggle against overwhelming evil. While storytelling does not dominate the experience, it provides enough motivation to maintain momentum throughout progression. Razor’s search for answers slowly reveals larger mysteries connected to his family, supernatural abilities, and forces operating behind the destruction spreading across the world. Gameplay remains the true centerpiece. NightmareZ focuses heavily on platforming fundamentals that demand accuracy and awareness. Players move through dangerous environments filled with traps, enemy patrols, environmental hazards, and hidden areas that reward careful exploration. Jump timing, movement precision, and pattern recognition become essential skills for survival. One of the strongest aspects of NightmareZ is its commitment to challenge. The game intentionally avoids excessive forgiveness. Mistakes often carry immediate consequences, and success frequently requires learning enemy patterns, memorizing level layouts, and improving execution through repeated attempts. Players who enjoy older action platformers built around persistence and mastery will likely appreciate this approach. Combat systems add variety beyond movement-focused challenges. Razor possesses offensive abilities that expand combat options and create more engaging encounters than simple melee interactions alone. Different attacks and special abilities allow players to approach situations with some flexibility while keeping combat fast and responsive. Enemy encounters remain frequent enough that combat consistently supports pacing without overshadowing platforming itself. Boss battles represent some of the game’s strongest moments. Larger encounters force players to apply everything learned during progression. Recognizing attack patterns, managing movement carefully, and finding opportunities to strike create satisfying challenges that reinforce the game’s skill-based design philosophy. Exploration also plays a meaningful role throughout progression. Hidden items, locked areas, keys, and collectible resources encourage players to investigate levels thoroughly rather than rushing directly toward completion. Discovering optional rewards creates additional satisfaction while helping environments feel more rewarding to explore. The visual presentation embraces retro influences confidently. Pixel-inspired design and side-scrolling structure immediately establish the intended atmosphere. The environments vary enough to maintain visual interest across progression while preserving a consistent fantasy tone. Dangerous caves, ruined locations, snowy regions, and darker supernatural areas help reinforce the adventure’s atmosphere. The darker fantasy setting works particularly well because it complements both gameplay and presentation naturally. Hostile environments and demonic enemies strengthen tension while reinforcing the larger themes surrounding survival and corruption. The world feels dangerous in ways that support gameplay rather than simply existing for visual decoration. Music and sound design contribute effectively to atmosphere as well. Audio reinforces larger battles while quieter moments maintain tension during exploration. Combat sounds help strengthen impact during encounters without overwhelming the experience. The presentation remains relatively modest overall but succeeds in supporting the game’s intended identity. The experience does have limitations. Difficulty occasionally moves close to frustration depending on player tolerance for repetition and failure. Certain movement systems and combat mechanics can feel rough compared to more polished modern platformers. Players unfamiliar with older action game design may also struggle with the demanding progression structure. However, many of those qualities are directly connected to what NightmareZ wants to achieve. Anamik Majumdar clearly designed the experience around old-school challenge rather than modern convenience systems. The game remains committed to rewarding improvement through persistence rather than reducing difficulty to maintain accessibility. NightmareZ may not radically reinvent side-scrolling action games, but it succeeds by understanding its audience and building around clear strengths. The combination of challenging platforming, dark fantasy atmosphere, and retro presentation creates an experience that feels honest about its inspirations while still maintaining its own identity. For players who enjoy demanding platformers, retro-inspired action games, and fantasy adventures built around mastery and persistence, NightmareZ delivers a challenging experience capable of rewarding patience and determination. Rating: 6/10
NightmareZ is a retro 2D pixel platformer/action game that feels like it's a template flip or it's been slapped together lazily with a video game construction kit. They chose to use obsolete retro pixel "art" as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget or talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result. Resolution and controls are locked. These flaws push this game far below minimum acceptable standards for PC.
