Update: Thinking on it, I'm going to change this review to a thumbs down because this game has largely been abandoned by the developer. This game is very fun, but has also been a source of pain for the past couple of years. Overall, this game is a very fun experience, but there are two major sticking points that might be a dealbreaker for some. Things I like: - This game's vibe is unmatched in almost any other racing game I've ever played. Very, VERY few games manage to properly capture the underground racing feel like this one does. - The sense of speed this game provides is also unmatched in almost every other racing game I've played. Personally, I think it might actually be a bit overdone, though thankfully there are options to turn these effects down. - The soundtrack is filled with absolute bangers, with Emotion Engine and Love Roulette being two of my favorites. - I find the handling to be very satisfying - The engine sounds are very well done Things I don't like: - The navigation system is awful. No other way of putting it. - This version you're looking at on Steam is a limited access build. Because it's a limited access build, you only get access to one car, an unlicensed analogue of the Nissan 180SX. Other cars like the Toyota Chaser and Porsche 911 are modeled, but they're only available in the paid Patreon build. - In the same vein, some of the upgrades are locked out of the Steam build, with some not being available at all. Which brings us neatly to the two major sticking points, The Dealbreakers: - This game has been in an early access state for a LONG time, several years now. As mentioned above, there is a paid version on Patreon, which would be perfectly fine if it weren't for the second point, being - The developer has gone totally radio silent. There hasn't been an update to the Steam version in over two years, and the updates on Kickstarter and Patreon are locked behind the paywalls. If you decide to give this game a try, you need to go into it expecting that this is all you're going to get and you shouldn't get too attached to it. Frankly, this game makes me kind of upset that I have to give it either a hard thumbs up or a thumbs down. If I could, I'd give it a thumbs up for the game itself but a hard thumbs down because of the developer.

This game is NOT abandoned, the developer merely has poor communication. The previously solo dev, Jem, has recently hired other devs to speed up development, which is currently in its best state. I've dumped 30 hours total on the prologue and the alpha touge testing version (accessed through patreon support) in just a couple days. This game is truly the bar for car customization in games, and it's not even fully released.
I wish Japan was real :(
Amazing game and great soundtrack. Cant wait until we get the full version :D
If multiplayer does happen for this game, this is an easy 10/10 that everybody should play atleast once in their life the dynamic music, the old style feel contrasted by the gutteral and brutal sound of the engine other SFX is amazing this game delivers a certain mix of adrenaline and dopamine that no other racing game has ever delivered. Making music a part of this game is amazing and should be done in scopes other than rhythm games. Phenomenal, even for a prologue, this game has so much content, and seeing the sneak peaks for the other demos and public releases makes me more excited each time something new is hinted at. For me this is a dream game that i can see myself playing regularly every single day.
Making this review just to say that the game isn't abandoned, people just think it is cause the developer very, very heavily relies on patreon for their info and game distribution while its (still) private alpha. Recentmost release was at the end of June.
game has a massive potential to be the best racing game oat tbh, but i think the game needs more of a storytelling thing. it feels so empty i mean. but the modification options, graphics, gamestyle, musics etc. is the greatest i've ever seen. i cant wait to see this game to be fully released.
Goated Sound Track and Gameplay, will definitely get the full game when it comes out
First off the game concept is really good, but you drive in the same highway loop and you can only unlock one car all of the others say "not avaliable in prologue" essentially you can race a few npcs, make a lil dough and stare at your 180sx for the rest of eternity because its all hidden behind the same messege "Not avaliable in prologue" and from what I have read it seems there will be no further development for the game and the creator isn't keen on modders trying to unlock the cars to be able to un-gatekeep the game.... Don't waste your time...it sucks. Go play a real racing game that cares about the community and save you're bandwitdth and time ^-^
Sadly it's going to be a forgotten project, it was fun and unique at least
