Уверен, каждый вспомнит хотя бы парочку отличных фильмов о той эпохе. Из менее удачных примеров наследия "сухого закона" - самые унылые гоночные соревнования современности, которые возникли благодаря лихим владельцам фордов - NASCAR. А теперь и эта игра... Завязка сюжета демонстрируется в первой неказистой катсцене. Джон Хамертон должен банку 5000 долларов и по удачному стечению обстоятельств ему подкидывают работенку, способную полностью покрыть задолженность - развозить нелегальный алкоголь. И...это все. Два небольших ролика в начале, обрисовывающих проблему, а следом и способ ее решения - это все что игра подарит в сюжетном плане. Более того, никакого эпилога или завершающей сцены, я уже молчу о персонажах. С игровым процессом все еще хуже чем с историей. Каждая гонка - это выбранная в меню миссия, с заранее известным заработком, уровнем сложности и расстоянием. Открытого мира здесь нет, как только завершается доставка из пункта А в пункт Б, игрок вновь оказывается в гараже с возможностью выбора новой миссии. Сюжетной важности они не несут, это лишь способ заработка, с возможностью повторного прохождения каждой. На заработанные деньги можно приобрести автомобиль с более внушительными характеристиками или улучшить/кастомизировать имеющийся. Основная же проблема - играть очень скучно. Полицейские посты, тут же затевающие погоню при обнаружении, стоят буквально каждые 50 метров. Единственный способ избежать их - объезжать зону обнаружения по бездорожью. Сами догонялки с полицией, благодаря не самой выдающейся физике поведения автомобиля и столкновений, ощущаются уныло. Да еще и в погоне может участвовать неприлично большое количество патрульных машин. ИИ как патрульных, так и гражданских автомобилей примитивны. Помимо доставки муншайна, игра предлагает и традиционные гонки с соперниками на специализированных трассах. Интереса игре этот режим не добавляет. Не за что хвалить графику, не самые красивые модели окружения и автомобилей. Плохо ощущается атмосфера американской глубинки начала прошлого века. Единственный арт на загрузочном экране сгенерирован нейронкой, также к слову авторы поступили и с озвучкой персонажей. Cons - Game has no ending (no ending cutscene, game complete msg, or credits screen) - Official Trailer was misleading since you can never exit your car - The map is really small and reused a lot - AI Voices - Script is clearly not written by an American - NPC Cars are painted too bright (not historically accurate) - Clothing (not historically accurate) - Police and NPC cars are driven with no one inside - Game Settings is limited to only three options (no V-sync option so have to use Nvidia control panel) - No new game mode - Only two cutscenes - Game is too short Pros - Unique gameplay mechanism of driving off road to evade police - Vehicle graphics are pretty good - Lots of vehicle customization options (more than Mafia 3) - Racing against NPCs is a cool mode - Lots of potential (should be in early access)

Needs more work. Only 2 settings you can adjust (shadows and texture I think). No way to turn off the music. I'm running an i7-11800h 3070 laptop with 64gb of ram with a m.2 hd and it's maxing out the gpu temps, using around 20gb of ram, and about 20% of the cpu. That's with the shadows turned down. You can avoid the police by not using the roads. Some missions are there only once and appear to be gone forever even if you didn't select it. I have the best car fully upgraded and out of missions and I've only played for 69 minutes. I have not done either of the 2 races yet. Besides the initial bunch of cut scenes there doesn't appear to be any more story. Not that I usually bother with story or making things look pretty... I'm just out of goals or things to do. I have yet to refund a game or post a review, but this game is popping both cherries

This game sucks. you know how in GTA how sometimes the cars aim for you when your driving fast? yeah this has that. it also has other issues also. cars handle like dookie, it doesnt show you how much money you actually have so you dont know if you have enough for upgrades. Its just not good. i like the idea. indie bootlegging game. sure whats not to like. but this one is trash.

The game is, quite simply, terrible. There are almost no settings, the music while driving is not at all period correct. The car controls are weird, the police sirens are annoyingly contrived, you can't get out of the car for the first 3-4 missions, you can't walk. This is perhaps a good thing, given that there is no inverse mouse (Y-axis) in the game, without which many people can't play. The graphics are like seeing the first part of Mafia slightly upgraded from 2002, 22 years ago! Unfortunately, there is nothing good to say about this game.

the game overall had decent things in it but they do need review 1. cars are very buggy and can catapult you into the air if crashed. 2 the police on some mission come out of nowhere 10 15 cars in seconds is very weird. 3. the driving of AI cars isn't good at all they seem to crash or spin around in circles. 4. johns friend at the start wears construction overalls prior to 1930 they aren't the right ones. 5 the graphics seem to be a little lagging as well on certain missions. if some of these bugs are looked at and reviewed then am sure their be better things overall maybe missions walking around more car edits things to interact with overall its just driving back n forth can get a little boring.

A driving game in which you drive from point A to point B in repetitive missions. While the world of the game is open, you can't fully explore it until you're on a mission. On the other side, because there are no collectibles and the world is very small, there is nothing exciting to see or find. Driving is actually rather good, and there are no strange elements that would render the game unplayable. You can't smash through anything with the car and you simply stop on the spot, but you shouldn't have any problems as long as you stick to the road. You pick missions from a map in your garage. New missions open up as you complete others across the map. They specify the distance you must travel, the payment for delivering the alcohol, and the level of risk. When you cross the finish line, you receive your reward minus the damage you inflicted to the car. While there is a sentence or two to give a mission a sense of uniqueness, they're basically all the same and repetitive. Risk places cops on the road that will pursue you if they see you. The simplest method to get rid of them is to drive off the road and make them crash into a tree. The cooldown bar begins to fill up the instant you drive away from them. The only issue is high-risk missions that hurl multiple cop cars at you. They collide with you and try to block you; you lose money if you get caught. Money is spent on a few basic upgrades and changing the appearance of the car. The selection is limited, and purchasing the best upgrades doesn't require a large number of missions. Because the game allows you to select your missions, you can just replay the shortest one and continue until you have enough. The graphics are adequate but not spectacular. Everything else looks bland, except for the cars. As previously stated, the world is small and not particularly lovely. It appears to be from a prior generation of games, with uninteresting visuals and asset pop-ups as you drive around. Another issue a long loading times. The settings are scarcely worth mentioning because you can only change the resolution and texture and shadow quality. There are no sound choices, controls, or other extras available. Voices are alright, but they are so repetitive that I wish there was a way to disable them.
