Night of Seven Dreams

Night of Seven Dreams is a game unlike any other. There is no fighting or killing, no puzzles, and no tedious, lengthy text. I prefer to call it a meditation, mindfulness, or tranquility game. There aren't many objectives in the game; it is simply about reaching certain locations, walking freely and experiencing the world from a first-person perspective, and gradually restoring your inner peace.

• The game features various ambient sounds. Some are quiet and peaceful, aiming to bring players a sense of focus and Zen. Others are slightly louder and more bustling, designed to immerse players in the scene for a different kind of experience. Overall, the hope is that players can relax their tense minds after playing.

• There are diverse scenes in the game. Some are slightly bright and comfortable, some are darker to simulate a sense of solitude, and others are in black and white to simulate a feeling of being enclosed.

• In certain scenes, self-monologues will suddenly appear. These are reflections of "myself" in the game, contemplating real-life matters and reflecting on life, aiming to encourage players to step out of their plight and forget their worries. The monologue boxes can be closed using a mouse, keyboard, or gamepad to continue the game.

Developer's Words

The original intention behind designing this game was seeing more and more people around me suffering from anxiety or depression. I wondered if I could design a game truly suitable for these individuals. Most games on the market are not suitable for people who are going through a difficult time; they can even make people feel more tense and anxious. There are indeed some games on the market called meditation games, but they only offer some environments and ambient sounds. I wanted to use simple text to help players reflect, face their struggles, and feel encouraged at the same time.

The gameplay of Night of Seven Dreams is about two hours long. If this game can help you forget your worries for a short time, feel a sense of relaxation, or sleep a bit better, that would already be the greatest encouragement for me. Thank you so much for playing.
