Night Book

This is not the best FMV game, but not the worst. It's short, only about an hour per playthrough. If you're looking for good modern examples of FMV games, try The Shape Shifting Detective, Late Shift, The Complex, or the Infectious Madness of Doctor Dekker. The acting was fair, the main actress was believable in her reactions, with a few of the others less so. Keep in mind to get the amount of footage needed they need to capture about 5 movies worth of footage. One impressive aspect was the effects minimalism, the team did a great job delivering believable effects at only the right times without reducing the overall quality of the filming. Quality minimalism was seen from the fillm crew as well, I'm sure required by Pandemic restrictions. The story and writing overall is where the game fails, unfortunately.

Bei Night Book handelt es sich um einen interaktiven Horrorfilm von Wales Interactive. Aber das wisst ihr ja bestimmt bereits :-) Im Vergleich zu anderen interaktiven Titeln von Wales Interactive ist es meiner Meinung nach der bisher schlechteste Teil. Die Story ist vorhersehbar, das Videobild künstlich verkleinert als "Kamera-Stream", die Locations sind eintönig und überraschende Wendungen habe ich bisher keine bemerkt. Die Spielzeit von knapp 1 Stunde bis zum Ende beim ersten Durchgang hat mich auch nicht überzeugt. Sicher, es gibt Schlimmeres, aber wer die anderen interaktiven Filme von Wales Interactive kennt, wird enttäuscht sein. Ich habe das Spiel im Sale für knapp über 2 € erworben und für den Preis ist es noch OK. Aber wirklich nicht für mehr. Wenn ihr die anderen Titel noch nicht kennt, dann solltet ihr wirklich besser zu "Late Shift", "Bloodshore", "The Complex" oder "Dead Reset" greifen. Wer schon sonst alles durch hat und noch Lust auf mehr hat, der kann als Sale einen Kauf überdenken. Aber sonst würde ich eher sagen: Nee, lasst mal...

女主演技有点一般，剧情也太简单了，充满了小成本感……但我喜欢互动电影式游戏，不想太严苛，就这样吧！

NOT recommended for a general audience. Strictly for big fans of FMV and horror and it shouldn't be at the top of their list. The game is almost a failure : actors are unequal, writing is average. When you make a choice, some achievement pop up and announce you what is going to happen. At the end of the game, the stats showing you the scenes you've unlocked are absolutely unclear, impossible to understand. The game doesn't propose an organigram showing you the path you took (and the leads you missed). The fact that you will never leave the appartment surely give it a cheap look. Still, it's interesting enough to explore the different possibilities... The paths you can take are numerous enough. There's not so much competition in FMV games and I still enjoyed my time, even it's so flawed. You can expect one hour for each play. You will have to play it multiple times.

Night Book, Wales Interactive’in korku sularına attığı ciddi bir adım. Konsept güçlü: Evinde uzaktan çevirmenlik yapan hamile bir kadın, yanlışlıkla eski ve tehlikeli bir kitabı okuyarak evine bir iblis çağırır. Kocası uzakta, babası ruhsal olarak hasta ve siz ortada bocalayan Loralyn’in kararlarını veriyorsunuz. Baştan sona gerilim potansiyeli taşıyan bir kuruluş bu. Oyunculuklar gerçekten iyi. Başrol Julie Dray karakteri inandırıcı bir şekilde taşıyor; zor bir rol ve altında ezilmiyor. Yanında Colin Salmon gibi deneyimli bir ismin olması da prodüksiyon kalitesini yukarı çekiyor. Hikâye boyunca ilişki takip sistemi çalışıyor; babanıza, eşinize ve arkadaşınıza karşı tutumunuz sona yansıyor. Ama Night Book’un en büyük sorunu atmosfer. Bir iblis hikâyesi anlatıyorsunuz, gerilim yaratması lazım; ancak sahneler çoğunlukla yeterince kasvetli hissettirmiyor. Korkutucu olmak yerine zaman zaman yüzeysel kalıyor. Müzikler de bu boşluğu doldurmaya yetmiyor. 15 farklı son ve 220 sahne rakamı etkileyici görünüyor ama ilk oturum yaklaşık 1 saat; bu sürenin kısalığı fiyat-içerik dengesini tartışmalı kılıyor. Sahne atlama özelliğinin sonraki oynanışlar için açılması ise düşünülmüş bir detay. Genel kullanıcı yorumları da “karışık” kategorisinde; haksız sayılmaz. İyi bir fikir, ortalama bir uygulama. Only loosely interactive and definitely not thrilling, Night Book is a subpar addition to the FMV stable. Found footage tropes are rinsed shamelessly and the lack of any meaningful engagement means the only true horror is the lost potential.

Being someone who had a Sega CD game back in the day, I experienced the FMV craze first hand. I hadn't seen one in decades so I gave it a try. Not much has changed except the video quality, and I suppose the acting is better than what we generally saw then. This isn't bad, if it's on deep deep sale, like a couple of bucks I'd recommend giving it a shot. I wouldn't recommend it for full price though.

Довольно дурацкая игра. Начинается как добротный ужастик категории Б "под мокьюментари", но быстро скатывается в потешный балаган, поскольку сценарий как будто постоянно срезает на поворотах. Скептицизм по отношению к байкам о древних духах сменяется абсолютной верой в них же минут за пять из-за того, что слишком громко хлопнула дверь. Диалоги такие: - Сделай это. - Не хочу. - Ну позязя. - Ну тогда ладно, сделаю. Или: - Сделай это. - Не хочу. - А то убью. - Ну тогда ладно, сделаю. И все это минуты за две диалога и один выбор. В итоге, через полчаса игры перестаешь воспринимать происходящее серьезно и просто выбираешь самые всратые варианты по фану. Выбил какую-то самую быструю концовку и продолжать не хочется.

Dieses Spiel ist in Ordnung, die Geschichte ist nicht mein Geschmack mit diesen übersinnlichen Fähigkeiten. Außerdem sind die Dialogpassagen viel zu lang bis zur nächsten Entscheidung. Im zweiten Durchlauf, den ich nur kurz angespielt habe, konnte ich manche Szenen überspringen, aber habe nach 5 Minuten das Spiel beendet. Normalerweise hätte ich bestimmt einen zweiten Durchgang gespielt, wenn die Geschichte für mich persönlich nicht so langweilig gewesen wäre. Trotzdem 6/10 Punkte mit Tendenz nach unten.
