About

Nietzsche's Shadow is a single-player experience with no combat mechanics, focusing instead on exploration, collection, and philosophical choice.
first-person philosophical horror exploration game where you wander through the Alps as Friedrich Nietzsche, confronting your own shadow and collecting pages of your final book.
Wander through the mist-shrouded Alps as Friedrich Nietzsche in this first-person exploration game, haunted by the wind-scattered pages of your final manuscript. Your shadow has taken form, speaking to you with sarcastic provocation, mercilessly exposing your contradictions and suppressed thoughts. What begins as a journey through flowered meadows transforms into a nightmare of twisted realities and philosophical terror.
As you collect the fragments of your work, traverse the breathtaking Alpine paths where Nietzsche himself once walked and developed his revolutionary ideas.
But this journey conceals deeper layers of reality. The truth of your existence may be more disturbing than any philosophical abyss you've contemplated. Are you ready to confront what lies beyond the veil of perception?
Who is this for?
If you enjoyed games like The Stanley Parable, The Beginner's Guide, What Remains of Edith Finch, or Layers of Fear - but wish they had more philosophical meat to chew on.

ending is kinda meh, though very thought provoking. I like the representation of Nietzsche, you were able to showcase his personality, his philosophy, and language in only 1 hour of gameplay, very impressive. But don't think you'll understand Nietzsche after playing this game, you must know the way of the overman and Nietzsche's life well before playing this game to even remotely comprehend what and who is Nietzsche.

A walking sim with Nietzsche writings is a great idea, but this game is poorly implemented. I would recommend it, though, at least for those who enjoy philosophy and games.
A quiet retrospective on the subconscious nihilism of the minds nagging thoughts against the musings of philosophical meaning to exist, and be. Tips: the ultra setting for gfx is bugged use high or medium
The game Nietzsche's Shadow is very poorly optimized. I experienced problems playing it on every graphical setting. The narrative pacing is extremely slow, the movements feel clunky and heavy, and the graphics look outdated, which makes exploring levels and progressing through the game tedious. Additionally, being overly text-based with only four languages available makes the reading and listening experience unappealing and not very engaging.
There's nothing new since Amnezia and P.T. with support of Bloober Team games made walking simulators popular. Game about philosopher? - wow, I'm in, but... this one is just unfinished bachelor's thesis project. Should be early access instead with further improvements. Technically as a game it's at least alpha version of something made by amateur on Unreal Engine. But I look further for games on such topics in future.
Some things are best left unexamined!! Woke up, my shadow told me not to think about it too hard. Walked for 10 minutes listening to classical music in the Countryside. See something unusual, am told not to worry about it, I don't.
