New Yankee: Jelly Chaos

Super Spiel! Mittlerweile ist das eine meiner Lieblingsserien im Genre. Man bekommt sehr viele und zugleich abwechslungsreich gestaltete Karten zum Spielen. Die Story ist wieder recht interessant gestaltet, man hat aus Versehen böse Doppelgänger aus einer falschen Puddingformel herbeigehext, und muss nun den Ärger beseitigen. Das Besondere sind die Gegner, die manchmal mit Rittern aus Kasernen, dem eigenen Helden und seinem Hund, oder Erschreckungs- und Einfrierzaubern bekämpft werden müssen. Unsere Heldin hat noch weitere Zauber auf Lager, z.B. um Wasser zur Überquerung zu vereisen, die Einheiten vor Schüsse zu beschützen, oder die Ernte zu beschleunigen. Eigene Einheiten kann man auch in Gebäude schicken, um die Rohstoffgewinnung stark zu beschleunigen. Auch die Errungenschaften sind toll, man muss nur ein paar spezielle Aufgaben erledigen, und schon kann jeder 100% mitnehmen, sehr schön! Ich hatte sehr viel Spaß damit und konnte gar nicht mehr aufhören. Das Spiel kann jedem empfohlen werden, der mal Bock darauf hat. Fazit: oh, the bell rings - oh, der Hund ringt ^^ :-)

Leider ist das Spiel auf Englisch. Ich habe keine Einstellung gefunden um die Sprache zu ändern.

Ich verfolge schon lange die Spielreihe und mag das Game total gerne aber, seit es veröffentlicht wurde es bisher nicht auf Deutsch übersetzt, weitere Probleme konnte ich noch nicht feststellten.

月初新发布的版本，相较之前两三个版本变动还是挺大的，可玩性比之前稍好，个人感觉改动的非常好。唯一遗憾是关卡后期设计的有些简单不如前面20关的难度大。

Players travel through a series of stages where they must gather resources, repair pathways, remove obstacles, build structures, and complete objectives before time runs out. Every level revolves around efficiency and prioritization. Managing workers properly and choosing the right tasks at the right moment becomes increasingly important as the campaign introduces more complicated stage layouts and objectives. The mechanics are easy to understand even for newcomers, but later levels still require enough planning and optimization to remain engaging. One of the game’s greatest strengths is its pacing. The campaign gradually introduces new mechanics, obstacles, and environmental hazards at a steady rate, preventing the gameplay from becoming stale too quickly. Some levels focus heavily on gathering resources as efficiently as possible, while others lean more toward puzzle-solving and route management. The game constantly asks players to improve their strategies and optimize their actions in order to achieve the best completion ratings. This creates a satisfying progression loop where replaying stages to improve performance becomes surprisingly addictive. The fantasy setting gives the game a playful visual identity that helps it stand out among other casual time management titles. The environments are filled with colorful villages, magical forests, castles, and strange jelly-covered landscapes that perfectly match the ridiculous premise. The cherry jelly creatures themselves add a lot of personality to the game, turning what could have been a standard fantasy adventure into something far more absurd and memorable. Character animations are expressive and exaggerated, helping maintain the game’s comedic tone throughout the entire experience. The humor is intentionally silly and never takes itself seriously. King Arthur being transformed into a sheep and the kingdom drowning in enchanted jelly perfectly captures the game’s absurd fantasy atmosphere. Dialogue between characters is lighthearted and playful, keeping the mood consistently upbeat even during more difficult stages. The writing may not be especially deep, but it succeeds at creating a relaxing and entertaining adventure that feels approachable for players of all skill levels. The soundtrack supports the game’s atmosphere effectively. Upbeat fantasy music plays throughout the levels, maintaining a cheerful tone while complementing the quick pace of the gameplay. Sound effects for gathering resources, clearing obstacles, and activating magical abilities provide satisfying feedback during busy stages. While the audio presentation is fairly simple overall, it fits the casual strategy formula well and helps reinforce the lighthearted fantasy setting. The amount of content included is also fairly generous for a casual strategy game. In addition to the main story campaign, the game features bonus stages, mini-games, achievements, collectibles, and extra unlockable rewards. These additions help extend the experience beyond simply completing the main levels once. Players who enjoy chasing perfect scores and fully completing every challenge will likely find plenty of replay value throughout the campaign. At the same time, New Yankee: Jelly Chaos does not do much to fundamentally change the formula established by previous entries in the series. Players familiar with Alawar’s other time management games will immediately recognize the structure and gameplay systems. Resource collection, road clearing, timed objectives, and upgrade management remain the foundation of nearly every stage. While the jelly-themed setting gives the game personality, the mechanics themselves remain very traditional for the genre. The difficulty balancing can occasionally feel uneven as well. Early stages are extremely forgiving and designed for casual play, but later missions become significantly more demanding if players attempt to earn top ratings on every level. This creates moments where optimization becomes more important than experimentation, especially for completionists who want perfect results throughout the campaign. Despite its familiarity, the game succeeds because it understands exactly what fans of casual time management games are looking for. The polished level design, charming fantasy presentation, and addictive resource management loop create a consistently enjoyable experience that remains relaxing without becoming completely mindless. The game never tries to overcomplicate itself with unnecessary systems or dramatic storytelling, instead focusing entirely on delivering smooth and entertaining strategy gameplay. New Yankee: Jelly Chaos ultimately stands as a charming and polished addition to the long-running New Yankee series. Its colorful visuals, humorous fantasy world, and satisfying time management mechanics create an experience that feels comfortable, accessible, and consistently entertaining. While the lack of major innovation prevents it from becoming a major evolution for the genre, the game still delivers plenty of enjoyable strategy gameplay for casual players and longtime fans alike. [strike] I would love to recommend this game, but I can't while the achievements are broken. I've tried contacting the developer via the game page, the developer's group, and in their announcement for the game. No response. So until the developer decides to pay attention to user comments, I will not be recommending this game, nor any other ALAWAR games in the future. [/strike] I am updating my review as promised because the developer finally fixed the achievement issues. It took two months to fix it, so that's not good, but at least they finally listened. As for the game itself it is very good. I really enjoyed this one more than the last few they have produced. The story was fun and funny and the levels were challenging without being ridiculously hard. I did have to repeat levels quite a bit to get the gold time, but that is fun for me. So I'm changing my rating to recommended.
