Neverwinter Nights: Enhanced Edition

First off, my hours don't reflect the true hours I sunk into this over the last two and a half decades. What a fantastic game! This is probably the best computer-based fantasy RPG I’ve ever played! This came out waaay back in 1998, and I’ve loved it ever since. I’m old. It’s old. But old doesn’t mean bad. It's miles better than NWN2 and NWN online both of which came out later etc. Sure, the graphics and animations are a bit dated, but that's not everything in a game. It has a scripting system, mission editor, a Game Master mode, and tons of (dare I say ‘endless’?) custom content that people have created over the years! I've played single-player and coop modules that really sucked me in. The main campaign single player is good but not great IMO, Where it shines are in custom modules and content people have generated over the years and in coop play with friends with real game masters on the server. Some of those modules and servers are just amazing! I also love being able to pause the action at any time and read the dice roll results etc. When it was put on Steam I immediately rebought this game for me and for my kids. Yeah, they're adults now but we used to play it together and we still do even now, once in a while, when our schedules can align, pull it out and play together. Ever since getting put on Steam it has continued to receive the careful love and development it deserves from the developers, and the community continues to create content for it.

i play on a crazy cool server called Star Wars: Legends of the Old Republic. It's insane.

It's Neverwinter Nights. You already know why you're reading this. Just buy it. It's the same old game running on your high-end machine.

To moja gra dzieciństwa. Gra się super z przyjaciółmi na necie i odgrywa jakichś elfów druidów i innych wojowników. Ale kampania posysa ostro :P Chyba, że dodatki. Dodatki spoko.

Единственная и неповторимая в своем роде игра! Нигде больше нет такого количества онлайн серверов, модулей, дополнений, интуитивного конструктора и всеобщей любви! При всей своей неуклюжести, проект очень ламповый и душевный! А возможность включать графические фильтры дарит игре 2ю жизнь! Лучшая 3д реинкарнация ДНД по ту сторону Балдурс гейт 3, которая по онлайну в стиме легко обыгрывает в партию у НВН2!

I have loved Neverwinter Nights for decades now. That said, unless you are buying this specifically for the reworked multiplayer functions, I would recommend buying it on GOG instead to access the diamond edition. The diamond edition runs fine and looks nice, especially compared to others of its time that have gone through some much-needed upgrades in their enhanced editions (hello BG1!). Now, the textures are oversharpened and uncanny, and the UI changes leave much to be desired. Crisper is not better!
