Sexy yuri game(s) with very nice art, and the story kept me engaged.
Ne no Kami: The Two Princess Knights of Kyoto is a visual novel with light action elements and a modern fantasy setting. Background art blends urban scenery with mythic motifs. Character sprites use clean line work and frequent expression changes. Performance is stable. The narrative centers on two girls caught between mundane life and supernatural conflict. Dialogue focuses on character bonds and gradual worldbuilding. Themes involve duty, identity, and trust. Plot conflicts escalate near chapter breaks. Pacing remains linear. Gameplay interaction is minimal. Players read text and advance scenes. Occasional choices shift dialogue tone and influence route branches. Replay value is moderate due to multiple endings. Route structure encourages save management. Audio includes full voice acting for major characters. Music relies on ambient and orchestral loops. Battle stingers heighten tension briefly. Sound effects appear during supernatural scenes. Audio balance is clear. Art assets highlight costume variety and dramatic CG scenes. Action moments use dynamic framing. Background reuse is noticeable in quieter chapters. Animation is limited to expression swaps and minor sprite motion. Ne no Kami: The Two Princess Knights of Kyoto delivers a character driven story with mild branching. It suits players who enjoy yuri focused relationships and modern fantasy themes with low mechanical complexity.

Ne no Kami - is a old novel, and by being old it incorporates all aspects of that : Art, character design, backgrounds , setting, and even story and lore. Is this game good ? - its decent , not bad but it certainly has flaws. And those flaws are not art or technical aspects (tho they have some quirks) , its the story itself, but more about that later. 1. Technical side. This is an 10 years old game so dont expect it to run very well, it wont have resolution more than HD, also this game struggles with fullscreen mode if u have multiple monitors and of you will try to run it on second or like in my case third monitor, game window will just completely disappear or launch full screen on main monitor set in windows settings. do someone cares about that in 10 year old game ?- no , all other aspects are very well made and run perfectly. 2. Art. Art here is decent . it has that style and vibe of old anime with over exaggerated proportions, its still cute and perfectly fits atmosphere. there are not so many CGs however average dialogues are very well made and have animations and facial expression changes. art here is 10/10 3 Audio. Its actually best part of the game. music here is top quality, especially battle theme . Voiceover is beautiful, not every characters are voiced tho but the main ones are. Other sounds are there too. 11/10 4. Story. And this is where issues begin. Is the story awful ?- not really. However you need to read it with brain turned off. The story is basic cliche about secret organization and random girl unknowingly getting there , gaining superpowers and fighting "Demons" or there they are monsters from Japanese folklore. i wont be mentioning that around 10-15 years ago it was the most common plot in manga in general. However character motivation here is weird. Sure characters have some development here, however their logic is super weird. While the world building is kinda there you better dont ask any questions and just accept that game says bc it makes no sense at all. I wont me even bothering mentioning all story holes here. Also game for some reason tried to make all stuff happening more significant by rising ridiculously high stakes around what looks like children fighting in backyard after school. And even Hentai although well made , somehow screws up everything even more (why would you put H-scene mid standard dialogue with phrase "lets have sex"?) , it feels like it was added just for the sake of "well our main story is meh so we will ad lex to motivate people buy this game for yuri". The main story is incredibly long for basically no reason some scenes and dialogues are there just o make game longer. Fun fact: if u forget whats happening in the game at all developer added a quick recap of all story after that end of the main game for you to remember and despite being short its enough to get everything you need going to part 2 if u want to do it for some reason. 5/10 . If you are ok with cliche without any logic behind it you can proceed tho ,with brain turned off its acceptable and at least not annoying. Overall rating i give this game will be 6.5/10 just for the vibe of old game and audio. The game is not bad its just sad that with such amount if resources poured in it it lacks the main thing (story). And its sad to see because there are so many brilliant stories hidden behind small games with barely any art and awful renpy execution. While here all stars to make great game were aligned but they somehow messed up with easiest part.....
