Or were you deaf or were you blind when you left your two fine legs behind, Or was it sailing on the sea when you got the cannonball to your knee, I too was young and I was slim and I had a leg for every limb, But now I’ve got no legs at all, they were both shot away by a cannonball.

About

Admiral John Byng who spent his life sailing the seas for the British Navy, died in 1757, by bullets on the deck of HMS Monarch. Admiral Horatio Nelson, carrying on with the utmost duty, fell similarly to a French musket shot in 1805.
Now it is YOUR turn to sail the seas of the Age of Sail.
But it would be wise to approach the subject cautiously: practice, improve your skill and your ship and connections with allies. Then you can commandeer best vessels: crush your enemies, see them driven before you and hear lamentations of their women in global chat.

Naval Action is a hardcore, realistic, and beautifully detailed naval combat game immersing players into the experience of the most beautiful period of naval history - when sailing ships ruled the seas.
Age of sail combat is a personal affair with no dirty tricks, corner camping, or hiding in bushes: you see the enemy from 20km and so do they. Just like in boxing you have to get close; and use all your tactical knowledge of wind, your ship to slug it out face to face. Broadside weight matters, but even a smaller vessel can overcome the superior enemy by focusing on the enemy weak spots.
No game has come closer to the replication of the Age of Sail sailing mechanics and combat. Thats why Naval action was named one best releases from early access in 2019 by Valve!
Beautiful ships – We have been painstakingly recreating the beautiful ships of the Age of sail period. Accurate hull models, sail plans, guns, internal upgrades, historical speed trials were used in the creation of vessels. The game features 50+ ships from small cutters to large 100+ gun 1st rates allowing the player to experience every possible role of that era.

Realistic sailing – Advanced wind and physics model provides for realistic portrayal of ship’s performance in the age of sail. Yard angles, ship angle to wind, fittings and ship condition affects speeds and turning rates. Correct tacking, boxhauling, clubhauling and other elements of realistic sailing will help you win battles in most adverse conditions.
Conquest and PVP Activities Fight for the domination of the West Indies, recreated based on 18th Century maps and navigational charts. Build ships, trade, attack enemies of your nation almost everywhere and capture their ships and Open trading outposts in the ports governed by your clan.
Damage model – Every cannonball is tracked in the air and after it hits the target. Leaks, structural damage, torn sails, demasting, raking, fires, explosions and all other hazards that were possible in that era. Damage is positional: hit the gun and you might destroy it. Gunnery crews are placed deck by deck. Shot can pass through the balcony, ricochet of the gun, hit a crew member and then fly out of the gunport splashing into the water. Armor thickness and wood types affect strength of the hull and cannonballs will ricochet from the hulls at extreme angles.
Built for PVP: Absolutely no hackers.
Hacking is a killer of fun in PVP games. From the start we have built the tech around one main goal - complete elimination of hacking from PVP. Naval Action is one of the few games where hacking is made impossible by design. Every battle action is calculated on the servers, even water and wave shapes. Yes - you have heard it right: there is a special server that calculates and replicates waves to all users in battle. When fighting in Naval action you can be sure you are only facing skills and ship fittings.
Gunnery and weapons – Major types of naval artillery are implemented: from long guns to mortars to carronades and obusiers. Fort and land batteries will provide you with support during battles near shores. Mortar vessels can destroy fortifications, though they may require an escort.

Each gun has realistic ballistics and penetration performance based on historical gun charts and admiralty tests. Heel and wind affect the shooting distance and will require a change in tactics.

игра говно, потому что нет клан склада
This game is by far the most realistic square rigged sail ing ship game out there. But it is littered with old features that no longer work. Tons of loose ends. The combat is so good its easy to forgive the issues but if they fixed it they would have a great game.
Hello I know there is a lot of critique about this game and i get why, it is really expensive to fight other people in early game (bcs the price of cannonballs and gunpowder) however when once you get a bit of money by transporting cargo and you can afford a nice ship and some cannons the fighting mechanics are really nice and enjoyable, which makes me really like the game.
Bon jeu de simulation
UPDATE, July 17, 2026 After spending another 100+ hours in the game, it's an okay game. But it didn't hold on to me for long. It's a little bit stale at the end, for context, i've reached Vice-Admiral level and i didn't even want to push through to Admiral anymore. Most of the updates for the game are just editing the values of shots, chains, hps... Range and so on. I don't think the developer has any plan to add anything new to the game. So whatever you get when you are an admiral level, that's it. I'd like to join Port battles but most of the ports i want to battle in are either in US time or Europe time. So i can't really say anything related to that. Except that it's a bummer i could not experience it. I think the game is losing it's player base Recommendation for the game: Maybe, Do not buy or Buy AT YOUR OWN RISK ========================================================================================= DLC Painters review: Recommendation: Buy at your own risk. It's okay but kinda sucks. I can only paint 1 ship per 24 hours and the paints are templated or very few. No new update to it. The game is already kinda stale the Developer might have at least let us color our own ships our way. ========================================================================================= Sending In My review after returning. For new players, it can be a little bit daunting. But if you kno how to ask around. The people are actually quite nice. Don't try to turn it into a marathon youll just burn yourself out because this isnt an action game. Its an age of sail simulation game. You need to plan your routes from and to destination sailing with and close to the wind. I found the crafting a bit tedious but when you have all the materials gaining the XP is simple and easy. I was able to reach level 13/15 no more than 3 hours. This along gaining a quarter mil Reals doing missions. I think the combat is where this game shines. Really better than world of sea battles. Wind is accounted for and the weight of the guns you used. The kind of wood you used will have an impact on your ship, JUST LIKE THEY DID BEFORE (some people complain about this) Id like to divert everyones attention to spanish ships that used a hard wood called Narra, they were quite durable. Sailing is nice and seamless, Ships are divided into blue water ships and shallow coastal ships. You dont want to get ganked lead them to he shallows, lead them to bottle necks, out sail them with a fast and nimble ship. Wind is accounted for so prepare to zigzag across the map trying to go with the wind and not against it. Trying sail close to the wind as much as you can until an angle presents itself to turn your ship towards your destination. I personally use the in-game protractor to plot a course so i can stay close to the wind. Sailing WILL TAKE TIME, but just minutes. These are age of sail ships after all. You dont have to stare at the screen always, you can plot a course and leave the ship for a while, maybe wash dishes or watch a show. Saiing with a group is fun though, My clan and me took on a fleet of NPCs and i was getting pounded on my portside and i had to go behind my mates Ship of the line to take cover and repair. Im more of a frigate chap myself. I really dont like those ships of the lines. This game is not for those seeking INSTANT ACTIONS OR ACTION PACKED AND INSTANT GRATIFICATIONS. I think the team is trying to mimic EVE online style but just age of sail. if you are a sailing fan and like to go as close to sailing like in the olden days, this might be for you. Oh. For south east asian players, be prepared for frequent disconnects. Server is far from us. Enjoy the game while you can.
