Maybe the only VS clone, that is, actually, pleasant to play Except for the anchor weapon, which feels too clunky to use The game is easy on the eyes, has mild pleasant music that does not get to your head too much, and in general looks and feels nonchalant At the same time it gives some depth to strategical decisions (invest into passive economy? recruit a crew? buy an upgrade? buy a weapon? upgrade a weapon? or just ignore combat and make paid deliveries while trying not to die?). Movement is also done interestingly - we are on a boat, that has inertia and does not turn momentarily At the same time it does not feel slow or sluggish (advice on how to make any game 10x better - make the player move 2x faster - does not apply here - here it is just as good as it should be) I think this is a very good balance between simplicity and depth overall - that's why the reviews are so good And a reminder that games, are actually games, not GPU melt simulators that have so many visual effects in them that they are barely working and have a loading time around half of a year. 8 / 10 for me anyway, very good, not great.
Nautical Survival is a great roguelike. It's really different and I love the arcade-y feel of it. Some runs feel a bit unfair and harsh and that often leaves me feeling more like my run is dependent on luck rather than my own skill...which...I know it's a rogue like, but I want my game to be dependent on like a max of 20% luck. I want it to be mostly my skill that makes or breaks a run and on over half the runs here, I didn't feel that way. I did have one especially good run in and it felt so good. I'm excited to play more, but I'm not dying to play more.
Really well-done, but kind of thin on content. Would love to see it built out further. Even if that's not in the cards, it's absolutely worth a buy.
A wonderful and visually unique entry into the "survivor" genre. The investment economy shake up with the islands feels nice and the level of power you can reach feels great without going overboard.
Nice and funny
The most in depth survivor I played, you can get lost just delivering the mail around. takes a minute to get use to the high contrast look when trying to see every element out there but I got use to it a couple of runs. will play a lot more/
One of the better survivor games out there. The arsenal of weapons feels very varied (even though I hate the anchor). The characters have very unique and interesting traits. I think the biggest innovation here is the islands system with an "expanding" arena. Instead of having a "shop" every round, you have a few types of islands which you can upgrade and visit at any time. The art is great and polished, I like that you can change the color scheme of the game. The gameplay itself feels snappy and responsive. Overall, highly recommend if you like arena shooters like Brotato
One of the best survivors variants ever made
Pretty fun game for 3$, soothing and relaxing
This game is great for setting down and zoning out. Easy to get in to, enough to keep you around.
