uhmm... no. slow and somewhat clunky gameplay. bored after minutes, even if it's dec 20...
The elves are naughty and need to learn a lesson, Santa is the man to deliver that lesson, in the form of snowballs TO THE FACE! Get the presents back at all costs and stop the naughty elves. https://youtu.be/jiBCoGL9Y4Y
Naughty Elves is a cute casual game where you play as Santa Claus, the objective of the game is to throw snowballs at pesky elves so that you win back christmas presents that they have stolen from the poor children! The controls are very simple and easy to pick up. As you progress through the levels this game also adds new mechanics here and there to stop it from getting old. For example a fatter elf is added who takes many more hits from the snowballs to defeat or altenatively you can throw candy canes at them because they just cannot resist them! The price is also quite fair for what you are getting. I also love santa's style, he looks like he is dancing as he is moving! As for a fault.. i can't really think of much at this moment in time but i suppose there wasen't really any challenge to the first few levels that i did play. Here is a video i made on christmas eve! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=guPpk3xrPKc Pros: - Simple Controls that are easy to understand - New mechanics as you progress through the levels - Nice christmassy background music - Dancing santa! Cons: - Too easy?
Naughty Elves is yet another of literally hundreds of lazy amateur 2D retro top-down shooter/brawlers infesting Steam and lowering the average quality of all video games everywhere. This one has a Christmas theme and involves throwing explosive snowballs at "elf" pixel blobs which makes a present jump out of them and into you. The hitboxes are garbage, the theme makes no sense, and, oh yeah, this was made with Java. Ultimately this isn't making Christmas better, it's just making gaming worse. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. A choice was made to use obsolete, decades old retro pixel "art" as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget or talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result. There's no option to change the resolution and no useful graphics tweaks. There's no way to ensure this is running at the native resolution of your display. There's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. The controls can't be customised, which will be an annoyance for many, but it can also render the game unplayable for differently-abled gamers, or gamers using AZERTY or other international keyboard layouts. Comically, the game was written in Java (I'm not making this up). Talk about not using the right tools for the job. Might as well try to bake a cake with a screwdriver. The extremely poor choice of game engine here is a major contributing factor to the defects with the game. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. The poor quality of this game is reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 2 players. This is a remarkably low number, and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam and well over 50,000 games for gamers to choose from (over 9,000 completely free titles), the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality game is to be expected. Naughty Elves has the pathetically optimistic price of around $5 USD, it's not worth it given the defects and shortcomings with the product, especially considering the sheer number of completely free, much higher quality games on Steam.
Great game just to sit back and play.

It took me 37mins to finish this game, on my first go. And I wan't particularly good at it. And I accidentally let it run while I was typing something on another screen. Pros: - There are some cool game mechanics. - The music isn't too annoying to listen to for the 37mins it took me to finish the game. Cons: - Walking around is very difficult, it seems to lag a little, and you can't tell when you are trying to walk into a space which is occupied by the edge of another object (invisible walls that shouldn't be there). - It's extremely hard to see what's happening in this game, or where the aim bar is at. - There is a significant time delay between throwing snowballs, and you can't turn after you start winding up the snowball, which is frustrating because half the time I accidentally bumped a direction button while trying to throw one, or accidentally started to throw one while I was still trying to move into position. - The game doesn't pause or stop between levels, and doesn't pause when you have the game minimised. - The game seems to freeze when you reach the end, before displaying the message telling you that you have won. I almost quit and restarted the game when this happened, as I didn't expect to have reached the end after 37mins.
even with some negative reviews around, I think this game is still alright for a relaxing christmas game about santa shooting snowball to naughty elves
Fun game! Maybe not for hours, but certainly for some minutes. Pros: - music is kinda chill - has some cool gameplay elements - was programmed in a self-written Java engine - the lil' grinches are cute Cons: - controls are a bit clunky - elves could be naughtier
