Nancy Drew®: The Deadly Device

First half of the game was fun, but towards the end it started to get more confusing, especially when it comes to puzzles with machinery. Overall I do recommend this game, but it was a bit more complicated and boring compared to the other Nancy Drew games I've played before

I love Nancy Drew, played them all. However this one, I tried once with family and we gave up. We just tried again for the second time... took us roughly 14 plus hours to get through. We all agreed it was not worth the stress over the amount of puzzles that were not straight forward. Just to name one of the puzzles specifically there is a 'hangman' word puzzle, that they made the unfortunate choice of making it possible for Mason's name to fit in when it was never ever ever ever part of the solution. I was playing on Junior/Easy mode as well, but goodness gracious... time and time again we were all saying how this particular Nancy Drew should not be for 10 year olds. Even with using the hints occasionally, it was a struggle for a group of adults. This also has to be one of the darkest and serious Nancy drews, that really lost the lighthearted feeling of all the other Nancy Drew games. It didn't feel fun, but more of a chore. I even liked the Salem Nancy Drew game which most people did not like, and I would choose that one over this. This one should have been filed away under 'the lost Nancy Drew games,' and have remained lost.

Love this game, played it when I was a kid and was super happy to find it on steam recently. Only thing is that there's a file that has to be deleted from the game files after install for it to be able to open which was pretty frustrating to try and find, but other than that, it worked great.

Another fun and challenging Nancy Drew game!

This game was pretty good to be honest, cool graphics and interesting plot. honestly if I worked with gary I would've knocked him out too. 7.5/10

maybe the oddest Nancy Drew game i've played. the mystery is really bizarre with its more "scientific" angle and the setting is extremely small - maybe the smallest out of any Nancy Drew game i have played. you are in a small research lab in a snowstorm and you can not leave because of that, so you will get to know about five rooms very intimately. this lends itself to a small cast, but unlike most Nancy Drew games with a small cast i think all of them are really interesting, here. one of the only games in this franchise i've played where i genuinely was unsure as to who the culprit was for any period of time - usually it just jumps out at you immediately! weird puzzles that i think are gonna be hit or miss depending on who you are. it isn't anything ACTUALLY scientific but you will be referring to binary translations and the periodic table and circuitboard diagrams a lot more than you will be in any other Nancy Drew game, that's for sure. maybe not my favorite kind of puzzle but some may really like that kind of thing.
