Nancy Drew®: Ghost of Thornton Hall

I love this game! It is so fun and addicting. I love nancy drew <3 The puzzles are hard for me but I love how it gives you hints so you don't get stuck.

One of my favorite games in the series. Spooky atmosphere and unique plot.

I'm new to the Nancy Drew games, but have played many adventure and point and click games. I found the story in this game to be really shallow, with the characters skirting around anything that might seem "taboo" to the audience, such as the Thornton's business, history and such. I was expecting much more narrative complexity, but this one doesn't go to deep. I'd say it feels like getting all the exposition that you need for a mystery without actually getting to learn any of the twists and turns that normally go along with it. For me that was a bit disappointing, as the characters are all interesting and I genuinely wanted to learn more and get drawn more deeply into the world. The puzzles were pretty fun and challenging (I played on Master Sleuth), but not impossible by any means. Sometimes the game doesn't do the best job at signalling where you should go next, or how to engage with the next puzzle, with some signals appearing much before you actually need to do them. Certainly not too much of a problems, but it can cause some needlessly walking around searching for a puzzle that just isn't available yet. Overall I would say I had a fun time with this game, but probably won't be pursuing other titles unless I want to solve some puzzles as the story left much to be desired. But if you're interesting in a puzzle game that goes far beyond what a standard point and click gives you (normally a bit too easy) then you'd probably enjoy this. Story: 5/10 Puzzles: 8/10

Loved the game, was the first one I've tried from the series, will be definitely trying more! :) Cool and difficult riddles that did not become too punishing or making you quit.

This newer instalment brought out all the feels. Truly felt like I was playing a more 'grown up' version of Haunted Mansion and Castle Malloy. Loved the music and atmosphere as usual. Characters were good, lacking as suspects a bit. The quality of the puzzles was the biggest and most pleasant surprise. Not at any point did I feel lost, confused or unsure what to do next. Definitely going into the 'replaying this one regularly' pile.

One of my favorite games by its atmosphere, and also the first to introduce the new features of scrolling dialogue and ending choices. It's creepy, beautiful, and tragic, and the graphics and engine are better than those in Midnight of Salem. One of the last good ones of the series of Nancy, unfortunately. Good easy detective horror for kids :))
