Nancy Drew®: Ghost of Thornton Hall

i aint finished the game yet but i wanna write anyway. game is really good, this was my first nancy drew game and i thought it would be easy and oversimplified like a lot of games aimed at family/teen audiences... it was not. this game is difficult, not to its detriment but its a challenge, i found that often id understand how to complete a puzzle but id be looking for the materials for an age either that or i just couldnt figure out why something wouldnt trigger. i will say i appreciate the non linear exploration, when i consulted a walkthrough it turns out stuff i had done wasnt actually neccessary until later... not a bad thing but it turns out that walking arround with stuff u think is useful but actually isnt (in the present moment) its lowkey annoying. also wanna say i played this in late night gaming sessions at like 3am so my brain was fried. that being said this game is insanely good, i said before im not finished but im arround the end section and wow the story is sooooooo compelling and everybody lowkey feels like they could be the culprit. also ik i complained a bit but the exploration and puzzles are really fun i adore the setting and even the characters designs are cool. this game has jumpscares btw... not super scary but they got me good

The Curse of Blackmoor Manor will always be my number one favorite for nostalgic reasons, but this one is very close behind. Genuinely gives me the creeps in a good way, without all the number puzzles that come with Water's Edge (the other really creepy game).

I would say this is the spookiest/scariest ND game I've played so far! The story and characters were intriguing and it was great to play during October. I will say I have never been so stuck in another game as I have in this one. Granted I stopped playing for a few months then jumped back in and probably forgot a lot, but even when I looked up guides it took me forever to figure the last puzzles out. There was a very specific order to do things in but the journal/to-do list was very unhelpful. That I did not enjoy, but the ending was good. Overall if you like hard puzzles and ghosts, this is a must-do Nancy Drew game :)
