Would it have been better or worse for these to be 9 separate garbage games dumped on Steam through Steam Direct, or is it better they put them all in one bundle so that it's easier for gamers to avoid this trash? I'm going to go with the latter, so kudos to the developer of this garbage for only burning $100 to worsen Steam instead of $900. Needless to say the failure here goes beyond just my opinion, the court of publis opinion has spoken with complete silence... see below for the player count (that was a bit of a spoiler). So, "Mythos Interactive Game Collection" is partially or completely made up of stock assets, "borrowed" from asset stores and free asset websites. Little, if anything in this game is the creation of the "developer". Where it isn't, it's worse, basic tech demo tier stuff that makes 1990's Adobe Flash games look like Mass Effect 2. It's challenging to need to go into the specifics of each bundled game in this train wreck, but I'll make an attempt as it will help to further discourage people from wasting their valuable time. 1. A garbage tech demo where you balance some flipped assets on a scale. 2. An western town asset flip shooter with some dice assets added to a plagiarised western town asset 3. A Synty Studios Polygon Viking pack asset flip 4. A garbage "hospital" action game where the developer couldn't work out how to make camera views work properly 5. An "adventure" detective minigame that's more e-book than actual game... developer never learned about "show, don't tell" and made a cringey e-book instead 6. A tech demo that might have ended up being a minimalist low poly "programming" puzzle sim with robots, that feels half baked and incomplete 7. A completely barebones minimalist "airport traffic sim" that is just an Adobe Flash tech demo slapped together in less than an hour (I hope... imagine spending months working on something and that being the outcome!) 8. A garbage VR tech demo where you play Fruit Ninja on an asset flipped backdrop 9. A very poorly done grid block/pathing puzzle thing of no real value to anyone What a list of shame. While there's no up front price for this collection of asset flips and rejected homework assignments, the other problem with asset flips is that when developers aren't capable of doing their job and creating high quality assets, it's also true they can't do any of the rest of the job of a game developer either. That's definitely true for "Mythos Interactive Game Collection", and this kind of asset flipping never results in games that have quality or value for PC gamers. The games are all really simple and unambitious in terms of implementation, more tech demos or one of those cases where an amateur developer spends $100 to publish something on Steam Direct to see if it's possible. Yes, obviously it's possible. A proof of concept, tech demo, or something that's less than a little blip on the radar isn't offering anything truly valuable to gamers. On pricing, this is "free" enough, at least you won't be expected to spend any more money after you download this, but just because something is free doesn't mean it's good, and the cost of a game is more than just financial, your time is valuable too. The poor quality of this collection of games is also reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the game all-time peak user count was only ONE person. That's right, only one person ever used this at a time. When I tried this for the purposes of reviewing it, I equalled the peak user count for the product. OUCH. I don't know who the other guy was or what game he played, but I feel bad for him and I hope he's doing better now. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam and well over 100,000 games for gamers to choose from, the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality product is to be expected. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Nope. This isn't worth downloading. While this didn't cost me any money up front, I still feel almost as ripped off as the asset creators whose stuff was plagiarised here. Note: The only other reviews for this game come from fake/troll review accounts that put an empty/rubberstamp review on literally thousands of games without actually reviewing the product, gameplay etc, and contain no real content. Take the review score here with a grain of salt.
