Mystica: The Ninth Society

This game is brilliant. Pros: -The price point is extremely accessible -There are no microtransactions -The gameplay is very simplistic and somewhat laid back in a good way. There is a classic charm to just earning loot and new types of spells, leveling, choosing your stats, and exploring new areas with friends in typical classic rpg fashion with no bull. -On that last note, this is an absolute must for co-op, collaborating and discovering the fun with others is half the game in my opinion, and this is entirely possible to do since the game is so accessible and cheap, plus this allows for way more strategies in a fight if you are using different classes. -The community is friendly and its entirely possible to just launch the game to have a laid back conversation about anything in the chat. -All classes can use all the spells. There are no restrictions, just different leveling bonuses. (I.e mages level faster if they use their spells, fighters level faster if they use their swords) -There are hats and cosmetics, you can work up gold in game to buy entirely new sprites, ranging from typical class based costumes to being a giant ice cube. Once again, there are no microtransactions and the grind seems pretty fair with more difficult areas allowing you to earn progressively more gold. Enough to make the idea of getting new cosmetics realistic. -The devs are extremelly friendly and dilligent, I had issues with the standalone version of the game and they immediately contacted me in the game itself and resolved the issue almost immediately. Plus they are really fun guys to hang out with. (I.e they don't have a PR stick rammed up their ♥♥♥.) So long as you like the genre and don't mind the style of combat there is nothing bad to say about this game. The only serious improvement I would personally make is to allow players to hit Ctrl once and have your character auto attack as opposed to having to hold the button throughout a fight. That and it would be nice if gold was shared in parties. Buy it. If you like the genre, and the idea of a laid back simplistic fun game that doesn't try to rob you with microtransactions, with a great community and co-op focus you have literally no reason not to. It's cheap charming and really deserves recognition and your financial support.

Reminds me of the first runescape, the one before old school RS. For EA stage, it is somewhat satisfactory. Theres many things that can be worked on and I'm sure with the support, this game can really improve. I was expecting the price to be higher but surprisingly it's at a reasonable price. I can definitely feel good putting a dollar to support this game.

DO NOT BUY THIS GAME The devs abandonded this game and the servers are freqently down for days and days - someone who knows the devs has to see your complaint message on the steam community section, then contact them to tell them to bring the server back up, so that you can play. It is a rare event for anyone else to be logged into this MMO. It is completely abandonded.

Just watch that second trailer.. This game and the community is awesome :) 9/10

"I love secrets", Justin, Game Dev. If you like to explore and discover lots of secret spots, secret itens, you will enjoy this game. The devs are really commited and we can expect lots of updates and improvements. And of course, more secrets =)

Not Recommended

If you enjoy games like EverEmber and Endless Online, you will enjoy this game. It's a simple, fun action RPG, the sort that makes you wonder what lies beyond the current screen. The developers are active and friendly, and new content is added regularly. At the moment, while it's on sale for $1.19, it's a steal if you enjoy this sort of game. And who knows? f you find the right player, you just might get a good welcome package. ^_^

There is very little to do in this extremely barebones game. It feels very bland and extremely unfinished. I "beat" it in about 12 hours. It's about as simple as you could make an RPG. It wasn't an awful experience but certainly not worth getting if you're hoping for the mmo aspect.
