There needs to be some polish added, but it seems the core game is there. It runs smoothly enough, the graphics are decent, and I did not experience any serious bugs. However, there are also a few problems to note. There is no autosave, which, after getting the hang of it, surviving my first few days and starting to get into it, I mistaken close the game (more on that in a second), and lost a good half-hour plus of work. That's not really the end of the world, but it's a bit frustrating. If you decide to play, save a lot. The UI was less intuitive than I would have liked. Esc does not clear the menu that was open, it opens the system menu, and there was no confirmation to save before exiting (with no autosave!). There were some graphical issues, specifically with candles not lighting the area (like a fire pit did), and the flame was a missing/broken texture string of pink boxes. The happiness attribute is a bit cheesable by simply building a statue. Set it and forget it! Seems way too easy if you ask me. The animal AI was forgivable, but pretty dumb. I also never figured out how to get skins for any clothing despite killing or trapping a number of animals. A house/shelter seemed to have no purpose (maybe it would later in the game?). It provides no cold protection, so I died my first run without understanding what had happened. Actions are painfully slow. Either autochop the tree when I want to cut it down, or reduce the downtime between allowable chops! Clicking repeatedly until the action triggers is annoying. Overall, I did not hate this game, but I think it's missing something for me to continue on, especially at the $12 price point.
