Mystery Case Files: The Last Resort Collector's Edition

Except for bug in MS Windows Steam, I am recommending it. I play it on Ubuntu Steam, so I do not experience the crippling MS Windows Steam coredump.

It keeps crashing on the powers switch. None of the fixes available worked for me. I love the series but don't buy this one, as it's broken and developers don't care apparently. And since I bought it in a bundle promo, I can't even get a refund, as I would have to give back all the ones that actually work. So lesson learned - don't buy bundles.

Great entry in the series! Brilliant visuals and a great soundtrack. Puzzles were a little easy this time around but definitely doesn't hinder this game at all! Very excited to see whats next!

Game sent me back to desktop as my connection went down close to the end of the game. Now the game just won't open the save. Badly written software. Not a patch on the early mystery case files. Strong no from me.

Доходишь до определенного места, и игра вылетает. Почитала обсуждения, у многих такая беда. Писали, помогает создание нового профиля. Нет. Если сменить порядок действий, игра не закрывается, но пропадают предметы из инвентаря, и пройти это место все равно не получается. Дополню. Баг удалось преодолеть. Для этого: 1. Не играйте Мастером Детективом, создавайте новый профиль (я меняла его 4 раза). Плюс снесла и переустановила игру. 2. В темной локации ничего руками не трогайте. Берите сразу ключи, открывайте дверь и включайте свет. При другом порядке действий игра вылетает. Если еще что обнаружу, непременно сообщу)

Mystery Case Files Ravenhearst game was the first HOG I ever played and it got me hooked on the genre. So much to love about these. Later on though MCF changed developers a couple of times and lost the uniqueness that it once had. Its signature puzzle was the rube goldberg type of puzzle. That kind of puzzle gradually was phased out and I was so disappointed. Many games in the series did not follow the continuity of the series but I hung in there, mainly because its my favorite series and I guess I am loyal to it. Now GrandMa games creates MCF games and I was not very pleased by their lack of continuity with the MCF style. But in these last 2 games, this one and The Dalimar Legacy that came after this one, they seem to have regained some continuity with the MCF stories. This game hearkened back to the style of Dire Grove. I noted the cold, snowy setting and the use of collected video footage. There were a couple of old style rube goldberg but also a couple of "cheater" ones, which consist of an enemy where you have to beat a succession of 3 different kinds of puzzles to get past him. Not the same. Doesn't count. I now have renewed hope in the series that is MCF and am very pleased with these last 2.

You are a detective investigating some disappearances in a mountain resort that holds sinister secrets, from vengeful ghosts to underground cities. Similarly to the other Grandma Studios games, it is very easy and straightforward, but at the same time the mechanics are good. The story is nothing special, and the graphics are quite poor for a game released in 2022.

The game needs repairing. When done and you normally get to play the bonuschapter, you are now taken back to start.

Ive uninstalled and re installed the game several times but it still crashes when im in the cave trying to turn the power on... i will change my review if this could get fixed but at this point i cant recommend the game because i cant play it.
