Completely unfit for modern computers. Only displays at 800x600. It cuts out the entire right side of the screen (where the list is ). Cannot be shut down except through task manager. I want a refund . The "very positive" reviews are deceptive. DO NOT BUY THIS GAME.

played when i was 6 with my granny now im 23 and playing it again for the first time since ........ love it this game and all the others that come after

It is the same old Mystery Case files I used to play long ago... It was great fun back then when I played it on a smallish square screen. It is still exactly the same game... But there has been no optimisation for larger screens. The resolution is completely off and the image quality is terrible. Yes, the game is not expensive, but I imagine they already made all the money they needed to make back when it was released. For the price, I really think it is not unfair to expect that the game would be optimised for what we are used to seeing in games today. I totally recommend getting this game if you like hidden object games and a good puzzle or two too... but get it when it is on special.

If you play HOGs because you like to search for hidden objects, these are the reasons why this game is one of the best: 1. Almost exclusively made up of hidden object puzzles. No terrible voice-acting, no creepy (and poorly done) human animation, no tedious puzzles for which the only challenge is how long you are willing to sit there spinning dials. Plus, the story is decent rather than cringe-inducing! 2. It's timed which adds a lot of tension when you are looking for those last one or two items. 3. You don't have to find them all! Ever get really frustrated when you can't find that last object, but you can't move on until you do? This game gives you a number of HOPs at once and asks you to find a certain number of objects across the scenes (always less than the total available to find). This acknowledges that sometimes you just don't see what the artists wanted you to see, and it gives you the chance to relax your eyes by jumping between scenes to search for objects. 4. The puzzles that are used to open up new HOPs are crazy weird and unique. They can be difficult to figure out, but there are hints if you get stuck. I was able to figure out all but one on my own, but they were hard enough that I really felt like I had earned the solution when I solved them. I loved this game, and I wish that there were a lot more like it!

Fun

I am an unironic, full-throated, adament supporter of the MCF series. Is it good? Debatable. Is it fun? Undeniably so. They are shlocky and entertaining. The MCF series truly knows how to set a scene and framing. And the atmosphere! This is fantastic, if somewhat shaby sometimes first real entry in the MCF series. They get better, I swear

pyschosis episode simulator 2006: 10/10

The first game in my favorite Mystery Case Files series. Ravenhearst is a treat to be had and explore. It was very eerie, and not going to lie, the game got a few good jumps on me here and there, and it really out played my expectations when it came to the story! I'm so glad I got to play. If you like the Mystery Case Files series, this will be a nice welcome, single focus treat that, while might not have any replay value, is worth your time and respect as this series goes forward.

I love this game. I am having a lot of fun playing. And wanting to rip my hair out on some of the objects I cannot find. I recommend this game.
