Halloween Stories: The Neglected Dead Collector's Edition

I play a lot of HOG's. I've even played other games done in this series already. This one just wasn't that good. The stories seemed incongruous with one another. They were disjointed. The main story was really short, in general. I didn't bother with the bonus chapter because I didn't care enough about the main one. As for the HOG's, they are painfully simple. I didn't feel challenged by most of them. The couple that had any difficulty were made that way due to the way the stuff you needed to find was shown in the picture. That turned it into a mess a couple of times, but that's not challenge. That's poor graphical design. And the puzzles? They are mainly the type that are tedious where you're moving around pieces to make a picture. There were a few of those actually. I'd get about 3/4th of the way through and just lose interest. They aren't hard. They're just not entertaining. There are achievements, but they don't count on Steam. There's also a guide, a map, and 2 types of collectibles. Nothing here you haven't seen in many other types of games. So, I'd suggest that, unless you're just really into this series of games, you may want to avoid this one. It's not the best for sure.

Have you been waiting for a Mothman HOG? This is it, he has finally made his HOG debut! I really enjoy how this series continues to breaks the game up into several smaller but connected stories, it is a very enjoyable format that gives you a good story that doesn't drag on too long. There was also some great monsters and designs in these stories which also adds to the enjoyment. HO scenes are pretty quick and the puzzles are decent with a few more tedious ones mixed in.

I really like the story. However some of the mini games were a bit finky. Also some of the things you had to do would not be the first thing to occur to you. Buy it for the story and if you have to skip a minigame skip it.

Protagonist is called in to try and debunk a haunted town’s tale. Finds more than she bargained for.

The storyline was good but some of these mini games are really hard which impacted the enjoyment of the game! Probably me being too dense, but I just couldn't figure some of these out and had to use the skip function for most of them!

Opis tej gry na Steam mówi wszystko odnośnie tego jaki jest jej przekaz: Sometimes Seeing is Believing! Czyli zobaczyć znaczy uwierzyć. W okół tej sentencji opiera się cała fabuła. Jesteśmy członkiem zespołu, który "obala mity" na temat legend, wierzeń itd. Jest m.in. odniesienie do święta Samhain, czyli pierwowzoru Halloween, jest też o "lokalnej legendzie" o duchu jeźdźca, czy do wierzeń rdzennych mieszkańców Ameryki Pd. Naszymi głównymi zadaniami będzie udowodnienie prawdziwości legend przez zdobycie zdjęcia np. ducha i, jak to często bywa w tego typu grach, udzielenie pomocy pozostałym członkom zespołu. Mimo tego, że podstawka jest zlepkiem trzech historii to jest strasznie krótka (poniżej 3h). Zagadki są OK i tyle. Są również klasyczne etapy szukania przedmiotów. Nic wyszukanego. Grafiki, przerywniki filmowe nawet ładne. Ot, spoko gierka hidden objects.
