About
You are a teenager living in the American Pacific Northwest, setting up your brand-new computer while home alone. Perfect timing too: You recently wrecked your phone's screen after dropping it while hiking. In the meantime, mom and dad are out in the city, enjoying a sorely needed date (and time off from their jobs). It should’ve been a chill night, but slowly you notice something is off with your parents... Before long, you’re stuck trying to figure out what’s going on instead of enjoying your shiny new machine.
My New Computer is a short detective/mystery that plays out entirely on your desktop. Get set up on your new computer as you poke around the apps, saved files, and leftover bits of family life. Whatever your machine managed to import from your phone is there, and it'll come in handy as you try to decipher the situation. Take your time and browse around a bit. Just make sure to check in with mom and dad.
This is a game that rewards creativity and curiosity in your conversation. There aren’t misleading dialogue options or boring locked-in paths. In My New Computer, nothing stops you from:
Getting angry and swearing at your parents
Rambling about how society will never be able to seriously consider pineapple as a pizza topping
Sneakily questioning someone
Telling your deepest darkest secret
Being an unpaid gig worker therapist for a stranger
You can steer conversations in whatever direction you want. Just don't forget: Your night comes to an end whether you like it or not.
Arm yourself with valuable information by flipping through chats, photos, and whatever else you find. You’ll need to build your own sense of what matters and how to put it to use. And if you feel exhausted and you need a break- Well, why not invite a friend for a game of chess?
The night culminates with one final decision you have to make. Do what you can to figure out what's going on, because that moment will arrive whether you're ready or not. Something is not what it seems, and you're all alone. Who can you really trust?
This game was made entirely by one person in their spare time with hard work, sweat, and all those other bodily fluids that they told me to put into games. It’s a short story experience intended for English speakers, usually under an hour. My New Computer is replayable; not only are there different endings, but some things even change between runs, making it worth a second playthrough.

A very interesting title from a first time developer. Reminiscent of facade from 2005, you interact with characters by writing anything you want to say, but in this game it's through a Messenger like interface. This game oozes intrigue from the very beginning, with a twist that should make it clear what the player should be paying attention to very early on. Of course, since you can say anything you want, you can also take things very off the rails very quickly, which can result in some interesting responses. If you're looking for a unique mystery/thriller with an old school internet feel and dynamic dialog, look no further. A single playthrough takes around 45 minutes. Personally well worth the 2$ asking price.
A game clearly made by a puzzle lover looking to change up the typical mystery experience in a way which both surprises and challenges the player. With the ability to have different conversations in each run, it feels like a unique journey every time. Finding out what's going on in the story is satisfying at the end but the gameplay itself makes the game worth buying with the pleasant ambient track and amusing characters. Would definitely recommend My New Computer to any imaginative puzzle mystery gamers out there :)
Quality game, told to me by my friend. I was really not sure what to expect when I started playing the game, but the experience left me more than satisfied. The experience from what I was learning seemed to be more user curated the more that the game understood my speech and ways of talking to their characters via the in-game chat box. Would highly recommend to anyone wishing to support an indie dev starting to get their foot in the door! I plan on full completing it.
Tried setting up Arnold with my mom. He missed out on some wild MILF action.
10/10 game for a new indie dev! Scratches my itch for a game that makes you think (actually makes you use your brain to puzzle solve / etc.) but also can't believe it's made by 1 person. It's been a while since I've played an indie game that makes u this immersed just from the way it's set up - from the world building to the characters themselves. Look forward to more content!
Should've double checked for AI, don't get this game
This is a lot of fun! The chatbots are really clever and fun to interact with. Had a lot of fun playing with my friends, and there's lots of replay value, too.
This game is really cool but Cosmo wont give me the password and mom tells me neaw year idk what happened wrong but its a nice game. Maybe more tips for new players or like hints of the screenshot and fix the chessgame cuz its really buggy. And maybe a bit more apps. Thank you wont recommend it.
A short but enjoyable game. The AI chat feature is pretty cool and adds some variation to additional playthroughs, but sometimes the AI will try to get you to do things that are not possible in the game (such as opening a browser or checking the metadata in the in game chat app). There are multiple endings which give the game some replay value. Overall I would say the game is well worth it for the price.
This game is fun! I love the chatting. I wish it was a little longer, but it's fantastic for it's length. I still need to play a few more times and try and get the good endings. The dev was also quick and responsive when I had an issue. A+ experience, can't wait to see what this dev comes up with next!
