ok, this is mr. hopp playhouse 2... but hd, i actually enjoyed it, and there was nothing bad in my experience, but i have to do a negative review because all i enjoyed was the content of the original game, this hd version is a downgrade... let me explain exactly:
PRO (improvements from the original)
- the slippery crouch, i do not recall that in the og was this slippery when you crouch while running, and i like this change, really like it...
... stop, that was the only real PRO...
CONS:
- graphics is... fine, i personally prefer the original pixel graphics, but this was ok... the only thing where this graphics is a downgrade, is in the monsters models... the 3 main animals enemies are... totally a downgrade, their models and animation are... no, they are objectively worse...
- difficulty, the difficulty here was easier for most parts, and the game loses his charm a bit, because they made somethings less interesting... the medallions are a lot worse, medallion 5 was a disapponintment above all... the medallions are made less interesting...
- coins, the coins were better in the original, here the game misses a lot of coins that were interesting to find, and the coins are just boring now, also the fact that you need a coin to play an extra game is just... i totally prefer the original in the extra menu and coins
- the game is less iconic and long for the reasons listed before, like it's easier... the chapter "loop" was an insult, in the original game it was harder and stands out more, here is too easy and you don't feel the monsters presence, in the original game the orphanage and nightmares parts were balanced, here the nightmares parts and nerfed and worse, so you feel too much in the orphanage, so the 3 main enemies becomes less important and forgettable, while in the original it was all more balanced
- the save system is... ok, but the fact that the medallions make you restart everything at death... no
so: animations and models and worse, even objectively, in the original some animations were a lot more interesting with more movements, and the game was very cool and polished, here it feels not so fresh like the original, a lot of sections were ""nerfed"" and now are more forgettable... like the final hell or the "???"... in the original it was cool and fantastic, here it's meh... for gameplay and graphic reason
and the game has a lot more bugs and problems too...
this game is not terrible, it's good... as a remake, it's technically good... but it's a downgrade...
the original game was a little masterpiece for me, a 9/10 just for the passion, give me a blast... this hd ver. feels more random and... ok...

edit: yeah i replayed the orginal for a bit now and... yes, the hud is totally better, and some sections are totally a downgrade in the HD ver. for example the iconic part where you need to take the key from mr's beverly while she is reading, in the original it was a lot smooth and you needed the chair to take the key, and then the coin, in the hd ver. the character is too big so the hitbox is bigger, and so the section don't works very well and is not that smooth, you don't need the chair to take the key so literally there is a step missing for the original... the smoothness of crouching is the only PRO, but then the original feels more of a remake than this, it was longer and with more difficulty and more interesting things in the level design, animations, models... everything
