This is the most broken game ive ever played hide and seek doesnt work and the graphic lag and it really doesn't show you how to play the game. Also with the price for the game is a rip off they could have at least made it enjoyable not 50 million jumpscares and thats it DO NOT BUY THIS GAME IT'S SOOOOOOOOO BROKEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BROKEN GAME was working fine till i got some message something like error code with some numbers then unreal engine , after that i cant play i would die for no reason and no commands would work at all
At the begining, this was as buggy game that had a lot of potential however, after replaying the game 10 months later I can say that the creator(s) have worked on it a lot and for once, I do recommend playing it. Below is my new game review on it: https://youtu.be/YICFEgdRYnQ
Experienced on the Oculus Rift with Keyboard & Mouse then Xbox controller. VR only review.
I'm looking at the store page video and wondering where is that game. None of that happened on my VR gameplay. I waited and waited for 10 minutes and nothing happened until the 10 minutes were over and then out of nowhere this ghost came and jump scared me. Game over. Keyboard & mouse played a little better than Xbox controller. I looked all around. I had several pathing issues. I got stuck on the stairs. There were several closets I couldn't open. But the biggest problem is that I think there's suppposed to be several things chasing you and you have to run to the closet to hide from them and turn off your flashlight, but none of that happened. I experienced zero game. The game is completely broken in VR. Rate 2/10. This is about as bad as games get. Maybe test out your game before releasing it on Steam?

MORTEM, developed and published by Daníel Ómar Hauksson, is a small-scale first-person horror experience that leans heavily on atmosphere, isolation, and tension rather than mechanical complexity or large-scale production values. Set primarily within the confines of a seemingly ordinary home and its surrounding environment, the game follows Timothy Collins as he returns to find his family missing and his house transformed into a space filled with dread. What begins as a simple domestic mystery quickly evolves into a psychological descent shaped by shadowy corridors, unsettling sounds, and the constant implication that something is watching. The core of MORTEM’s gameplay revolves around exploration. Players navigate through dimly lit rooms and wooded exteriors, gradually uncovering clues about what has transpired. There is no emphasis on combat; instead, survival hinges on awareness and reaction. The game employs chase-like sequences and hide-and-seek scenarios that interrupt quiet investigation with sudden bursts of urgency. These moments create spikes of tension that contrast with the slower, creeping pace of wandering through dark hallways. While the structure is straightforward, it successfully builds an atmosphere of vulnerability. Lighting plays a crucial role in shaping the experience. Much of the environment is cloaked in darkness, requiring players to rely on limited illumination. This restricted visibility enhances the sense of unease, forcing cautious movement and careful observation. The use of shadow and silence amplifies anticipation, making even mundane spaces feel threatening. Sound design reinforces this effect, with distant creaks, subtle whispers, and abrupt audio cues contributing to a constant undercurrent of tension. The horror emerges more from suggestion and psychological discomfort than from overt gore or relentless jump scares. Visually, MORTEM adopts a modest 3D presentation that reflects its indie origins. The environments are functional rather than highly detailed, focusing on layout and mood over graphical sophistication. Textures and animations may appear simple compared to larger-budget horror titles, but the stripped-down aesthetic lends the game a raw and intimate tone. This simplicity can occasionally limit immersion, particularly when environmental details lack refinement, yet it also contributes to the personal, almost experimental feel of the project. Narratively, the game offers a minimalistic story that unfolds through environmental cues rather than extensive dialogue or cinematic sequences. The mystery surrounding Timothy’s missing family serves as motivation, but the storytelling remains restrained. This subtle approach allows players to interpret events and piece together implications themselves, though some may find the lack of deeper exposition leaves the narrative feeling underdeveloped. The focus remains squarely on mood and suspense rather than complex plot twists. Reception to MORTEM has been mixed, reflecting its niche appeal. Players who appreciate compact indie horror experiences and are comfortable with limited mechanics often find value in its tense atmosphere and brief but focused structure. Others may find the pacing repetitive and the gameplay systems too sparse to sustain prolonged engagement. Its relatively short duration means it functions more as a concentrated horror vignette than as a fully fleshed-out survival horror adventure. Ultimately, MORTEM stands as a modest yet earnest indie horror title that prioritizes atmosphere over complexity. It delivers a contained, tense journey through a familiar setting turned unsettling, relying on lighting, sound, and psychological suggestion to evoke fear. While it may not compete with larger, more technically polished horror releases, it offers a straightforward and affordable experience for players interested in exploring smaller-scale, atmosphere-driven horror games. Игра весьма интересна и не сложна. Если Вы хотите начать приобщаться к хоррор жанру - Вам понравится! Здесь можно все посмотреть: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1GBmwVyXaGI&t=921s
I played this game and overall I think the price is fair for the content within. I will say it's challenging, I didn't beat it. I did have what might have been a glitch with one of the two that will chase you, but i'm unsure since it was hard to tell if what happened might have been intended. If you'd like to see someone playing the game to get a taste for it you can watch my "let's play" of it here: https://youtu.be/ch4USQzHMdQ I go into a little more detail as to what I like and don't like through out. All in all I feel like it's a worthwhile buy if jump-scare games are fun for you, and plus you help a smaller developer in this case rather than some big developer who will release a half product early and then endlessly patch it later. It's always nice to help the underdogs!
Este juego es de los mejores juegos de terror que he probado. 100% recomendable
