Your name is Rudolf Pasaret, an ex-detective. Twenty years ago, you were prompted to check the apartment of the professor of physiology, Albert Viere, who disappeared without a trace from his home. The only clue the lovely concierge gave you is that she heard a big bang in Albert Viere's apartment. Mr. Viere was known to the police as he had previously been charged with the murder of his wife, but he was acquitted due to lack of evidence. So, what happened on that day to Mr. Viere? And more importantly, can you recall the events of his disappearance? It was twenty years ago, but let’s try to remember, in Morrok.
Morrok is a point and clicks escape room game developed by Pixelfresh Games and published by HH-Games on the 2nd of June 2023 on the Steam platform.
The game consists of nine chapters, and the story takes place in early 1900. The first chapter successfully presents the era, while the other levels take place in rooms with medieval instruments of torture. Right away I was impressed by the beautiful graphics and how smooth the controls were. It is very easy to look around, pick up objects and move in the direction you select using your mouse. And it is super easy to combine two objects, which you will only need to do a couple of times during your playthrough. You can replay the chapters you have unlocked at any time. The downside is that you do not have the ability to save while playing a chapter. Even if you don’t really need to, it’s always nice to have the option.
The game is very average for an escape room game. Five of the nine levels are quite good; they make sense and make you think a bit. But the other four levels consist in finding only one or two items to escape to the next room. It felt like the developers were having a creativity block.
If the game had twenty levels and more than half of the rooms took one hour+ to figure out and move on to the next room, I could understand having a nice, simple room here and there. But not when you can finish the game within two hours. And the price is a bit excessive for what you get.
It is disappointing, which is a shame because the effort in the presentation is good, but the rest is truly lacking. There are no achievements or trading cards either. Only two languages are available, which are Ukrainian and English. The other one listed is Pyc, but I think it is a mistake as I haven’t heard anyone speaking Python as yet.
This review is informational, but as Steam doesn’t have an informational review option, I will tick the thumbs up. In Steam curator groups, there is an informational option, so I was able to feature Morrok in my curator Steam Group (THE CPT FROGGY CLUB) as an informational review.

Morrok has beautiful graphics but is very short, with simple puzzles for an escape room game.
