Mori is a love letter to those Newgrounds and Kongregate classics you spent your formative years of life mastering. I had the pleasure of exploring the enemy juggling and damage dodging complexities of Mori on it's Itch.io release. I'm pleased to see there's even more polish here to shine. The game never takes the player for granted, it is engaging off the rip and compelling mechanical interactions are added constantly as the story arc unravels. Beyond the initial challenges implemented, you will need to be sure to look out for check points on at least your first run. In subsequent trials you are able to set your own limits with personal bests. What will be your highest multiplier? How much damage will I take? How many bullets can I keep? Will I 'Burn Out'? While I wish there were more custom touches, like a personalized high score tracker, and a more dynamic soundtrack, where Mori truly excels is in the smooth gunplay and in the quick movement of it's flick-heavy gameplay. You're able to accelerate to the brink of your limits and adjust just as appropriately. The mechanical design and distinguished pixel-art style show off a promising game developer, and separate Mori's flame into a kind of kindling of its own. It's definitely among the best two dollars you'll ever spend.
If a game has gator vultures, it must be alright
Braah, low-key one of the best games ever produced in the industry, some aspects of it gave me a new prospective on life. The gameplay is genuinely fire 🔥 The NPC are interesting, cool and non-chalant, love every single one of the. And the story, God help me goon to the story of this game, it's thrilling, heart-breaking and I don't have the words to describe it further LITERALLY. Enjoyed a lot with my friend: "leonardo mori" aka "me". The best game of 2026-2025-2024-2023-2022-2021... And so on to the birth of Jesus of Nazareth and absolutely beyond that date. Peak.
