Moorhuhn Kart 4 is a really funny racing game! I’ve been playing it for about a week, and it has already become one of my favorites. I like the fact that there are different ways to play. I enjoy the Time Trial and Online modes the most—especially when there are other good players in the lobby. It’s a bit sad that you can’t create a custom championship by selecting specific tracks. All in all, I highly recommend this game to everyone!
Moorhuhn Kart 4 is a lighthearted arcade racer developed by Korion Interactive and published by Markt+Technik Verlag GmbH that continues the long-running Moorhuhn (Crazy Chicken) franchise by leaning fully into accessible, family-friendly kart racing. Built around humor, bright visuals, and uncomplicated mechanics, the game positions itself firmly as a casual alternative within the kart racing genre, aiming to deliver quick fun rather than deep competitive mastery. Its tone is playful and nostalgic, especially for players familiar with the Moorhuhn brand, and it rarely strays from its goal of being easy to pick up and broadly approachable. At its core, the game follows the familiar kart racing structure. Players choose from a roster of quirky characters drawn from the Moorhuhn universe and race across a selection of colorful, themed tracks. The circuits span a variety of environments, including rural landscapes, snowy routes, and exaggerated fantasy settings, each designed with a cartoonish flair that emphasizes personality over realism. Races are fast-paced but rarely overwhelming, and the overall speed is tuned so that newcomers can stay competitive without needing perfect control or memorized racing lines. The driving mechanics reflect this casual philosophy. Steering, acceleration, and item usage are simple to understand, and drifting is included as a core mechanic, though it lacks the tight precision found in higher-budget kart racers. Drifts can sometimes feel floaty or inconsistent, which may frustrate players accustomed to more refined handling systems. That said, this looseness also lowers the skill ceiling, making it easier for inexperienced players to remain in contention and enjoy the chaos without feeling left behind. Items play a familiar but somewhat restrained role in the racing. Power-ups are designed to disrupt opponents or provide small advantages, but they rarely feel game-changing. Many races are decided more by basic driving and positioning than by dramatic item swings, which gives the game a slightly more predictable rhythm than genre leaders. While this reduces moments of extreme comeback drama, it also keeps races relatively stable and avoids overwhelming players with constant interruptions. Track design is one of the stronger elements of Moorhuhn Kart 4. Courses are visually distinct and generally easy to read, with gentle shortcuts, obstacles, and elevation changes that add variety without being overly punishing. Some layouts can feel awkward in places, especially where narrow paths or environmental objects clash with the looser handling, but overall the tracks are varied enough to keep repeated races from feeling monotonous. Visually, the game embraces a bright, slightly old-school aesthetic that prioritizes charm and clarity over graphical fidelity. Single-player modes provide a straightforward progression through races and cups, but the experience is somewhat limited by the quality of AI opponents. Computer-controlled racers can feel inconsistent, occasionally offering little resistance or making odd navigation choices that reduce the sense of competition. As a result, long-term single-player engagement may wane once players become familiar with the tracks, as the challenge does not scale significantly or demand advanced mastery. Where Moorhuhn Kart 4 shines most is in multiplayer. Local split-screen racing captures the game’s intended spirit best, turning it into a social, couch-friendly experience well suited for families or casual gatherings. Online multiplayer expands this potential further, allowing players to race against others across platforms, though the size of the active online community can vary. In these modes, the game’s forgiving mechanics and cheerful presentation feel more like strengths than compromises, as unpredictability and shared laughter take precedence over competitive balance. Audio design is serviceable, with upbeat music and cartoon sound effects that reinforce the game’s comedic tone without becoming intrusive. The soundtrack supports the racing without demanding attention, and character sounds add personality, though nothing rises to the level of being especially memorable. Like much of the presentation, the audio does its job without attempting to stand out. Ultimately, Moorhuhn Kart 4 is a game that understands its limitations and audience. It does not attempt to rival the mechanical depth or polish of the most famous kart racers, instead offering a friendly, humorous alternative that values accessibility and charm. Fans of the Moorhuhn franchise will appreciate the familiar characters and tone, while casual players may enjoy its low barrier to entry and relaxed pacing. For those seeking a serious or competitive kart racing experience, it may feel too shallow, but for lighthearted multiplayer fun and nostalgic appeal, it delivers a consistently enjoyable ride. Rating: 8/10
Good kart game!
I remember playing Crazy chicken kart 3 when i was in elementary school, and i bought this one to see if it is better then last one or not. Unfortunately nostalgia got the best out of me for this one, this game feels like it doesnt have a soul, like it lacks something i dont know what, but techically the game is improved over last one. If you never played the CCK3 and just bought this one then go along because you dont know what you were missing so you cant compare it.
Competes with Smurfs Kart in terms of tracks/GPs and characters and graphics and music and driving mechanics and everything single-player content-based. Is similarly priced. I like both. Paid full price for both, and I'm ok with that.
