About
We love moonshin’. There ain’t nothin’ better than good booze. In Appalachia, we know it well. We’ve got moonshine in our blood - in the case of some old-timers, maybe even literally. We love to talk about likker, make it, drink it all day long - and we love to share it too! How 'bout that, my gaming friend?
What’s your alcohol of choice? Do you maybe know how to make it? The process is a complex one, but with our know-how, we can shed some light on it, if you’d like; a little bit of moonlight - moonshine! - to guide you through the processes of fermentation, distillation, and bottling. But that’s too much to write about here - just check out the .gif below to see how we went about it.
Makin’ booze is pure fun, but if you’re makin’ money too - now that’s the way to live. However, for that, you need to be smart, manage your base right, and not piss off the boys in blue...
We tried to capture the life of a moonshiner as realistically as possible. You’ll be managing workers who’ll be crafting and maintaining your equipment, you’ll be buying ingredients, unlocking technologies, planning deliveries and finances, making sure you remain as discreet as possible - and deciding whom to trust and with whom to work.
In our game, you take on the role of a young moonshiner. You will progress through main missions, perform side quests, and run into road events during deliveries - the life of a moonshiner is ever-exciting and full of surprises...
If you’ll be prospering, you’ll get the chance to create and manage bases in five different regions, each with its own, more and more challenging missions. From your hometown mountains, through the thicket of a forest and mud of a swamp, all the way to civilization to conquer the big city.
How the story will end depends purely on you - there’ll be a pesky agent who’ll want to work with you, and there’ll be a corrupt governor that you can join. But you can also ignore them. You’re a free man, after all.
That’s how Moonshine Inc. came to be. Made for moonshiners, amateurs, dreamers, and newbies. Sit down, launch the game, enjoy crafting and running your business, and relax… after all, ain't nothin’ illegal ‘til you get caught!

ACTUAL REVIEW OF THE GAME... a lot of the negative reviews are based on performance issues or bugs in the game and not actual play. I had zero performance issues so this is strictly about the gameplay. I was extremely disappointed with the game. There really isn't much of a game to begin with... I really like the idea of a moonshine simulator, but this is not that...it is a business simulation. This game is, I hate to say it, a step above a glorified phone app. You make a couple clicks and things run themselves. Even if you have no idea what you are doing you can still add some ingredients, adjust a line or two, and make money without knowing anything. The tutorial is short because there isn't much to do. The main goal is essentially keep clicking on random ingredients trying to match/unlock a hidden recipe.. That's it.. although there is a lot of them. More of a puzzle solver than simulator. The illegal selling part isn't much because the product will still get sold at different places. Now I kind of knew what I was getting into from watching some playthroughs but I thought I would give it a shot and was still disappointed. Bought it on sale for half price and refunded because it's not even worth that. Also seeing how the game is 2 years old at this point, doesn't look like anything will be improved or added. But still, its a business simulation. If you're looking for something like drug dealer simulator meets the brewmaster sim, this is not for you...although that would be amazing..
Moonshine Inc. is a captivating narrative-driven adventure set in a beautifully crafted steampunk world. With its noir atmosphere, engaging story, and intriguing characters, the game invites players into a world of mystery, corporate intrigue, and personal secrets. If you love immersive storytelling wrapped in a stylish aesthetic with puzzle-solving and exploration, Moonshine Inc. offers a compelling journey that’s both thoughtful and visually striking. The gameplay follows classic point-and-click adventure conventions, encouraging careful exploration, item interaction, and dialogue choices that influence the unfolding narrative. The puzzles are well-designed—challenging without being obtuse—often requiring players to pay attention to environmental details and story clues. The pacing balances investigation with moments of quiet reflection, making the experience feel like peeling back the layers of a complex mystery. Set in a dystopian steampunk metropolis, the story revolves around the protagonist’s investigation into a secretive corporation with hidden agendas. The narrative is rich with twists, ethical dilemmas, and well-developed characters, each with their own motives and backstories. Themes of power, ambition, and trust run deep, giving the story weight beyond typical adventure fare. Moonshine Inc. shines with its atmospheric hand-painted backgrounds, detailed character designs, and moody lighting that perfectly capture the steampunk noir vibe. The soundtrack and sound design complement the visual style superbly, blending melancholic melodies with industrial sounds that immerse you fully in this intriguing world. Pros: -Deep, engaging story with memorable characters -Beautifully crafted steampunk aesthetic -Thoughtful puzzles that reward observation -Atmospheric soundtrack and sound design -Dialogue choices impact story direction Cons: -Some puzzles may feel slow or repetitive -Narrative pacing can drag in parts -Limited action or gameplay variety beyond exploration and puzzles Moonshine Inc. is a well-crafted steampunk adventure that excels in storytelling and atmosphere. It’s ideal for players who enjoy unraveling mysteries and immersing themselves in richly detailed worlds. While it may not satisfy those looking for fast-paced gameplay, its narrative depth and style make it a standout title in the adventure genre. Recommended for fans of point-and-click adventures, steampunk enthusiasts, and players who appreciate story-driven games with a noir twist. Rating: 7/10
I can't recommend this game in its current state. It feels like a new Early Access in the first 1-2 weeks. I didn't had any absolute Gamebreakers after 4 hours but everything feels kind of clunky, wierd and bugged. The sad thing is i have my fun with it but the bugs and wierd stuff corrupts this fun everytime. Considering the last Patch Notes are from January 2024 i don't think it gets polished any further. If the game gets polished a little bit more i will change my review.
Once you understand how production works, the game becomes tedious as there is no compelling content outside of production.
A game about distilling and selling spirits sounds really great. Except this isn't a game as much as it is a menu-clicker simulator. All you do is click things in a menu. You don't get to walk around and look at or interact with the process. The entire game is spent clicking around in menus and waiting for timers. It got boring within the first 15 minutes. You don't pour ingredients into a vat. You don't inspect the fermentation to check that it's going well. You don't light the fire under the still and swap out jars as they fill. You just sit there and wait for the timer to run out. And the game tells you exactly how it will turn out before you've even made it. You don't drive the product to the customers. You click a button for that too and wait out a timer. That's the entire game. And it's just really tedious.
Yep. It's fun. I haven't found any bugs. Bargain on sale.
=== The game is a buggy piece of crap, the "developers", if I may say so, are thieves. I wrote to them twice on Discord - no response. I contacted them through their form on their website - silence. After 6 hours of playing, all autosaves suddenly disappeared, except for the very first one, at the end of the training mission. If you have nowhere to spend your money - it is better to make paper airplanes out of them than to buy this crap.
The idea of creating and selling moonshine is great. it's a lot of fun to find out the best mix of ingredients and way of processing to get the best results. But unfortunately there are several bugs included, which ocassionally appear but will ruin your run earlier or later. Some of the problems are disappeared goods from storage (gas), locked equipment without any notice and crafting orders, which neither will be completed nor yet started.
SUPER FUN, I was looking for a moonshine simulator and this one is coupled with growing a business. Very fun if you've ever brewed before. Great if you're unemployed and have an entrepreneur mind set. Hobby Distilling was just made legal in my state, one day I'd love to start crafting. I've encountered a few bugs but nothing that soft locks or breaks the process, typically I've found a work around. But over about 48 hrs of game play only 3-4 little hiccups. Other comments are a little too harsh in my view, for an indie game this is fantastic.
