Reviews
I will preface this by saying I didn't really play the 1st, I own it and maybe fired it up once. I don't recall how it plays at all. Moonlighter 2 is an amazing rogue like and it seems the negative reviews are people wanting it to be something it isn't. As a rogue like, it is top tier. The game play loop is fun and I like that you can bail out early to keep your loot. Gives it a nice extra layer where you have to weigh the pros and cons of pushing forward. Do I have enough health to push on or is my loot too good and I don't want to risk dying? Don't recall any roguelikes that have a mechanic like that. As for progression and upgrades, I think they are pretty good. Idk if the other reviewers just quit early, but there are a none of significant unlocks. And the smaller ones all add up to give you the edge to finally finish the boss. The loot management is fun too, you align the relics in your backpack and they have the ability to increase value. But there are also negative effects. It's a mini game in itself. Combat is fun to me, and each weapon feels significantly different with cool mechanics. The boons you can get can change it up even more. The game is pretty hard too, I was playing on hard and had to move it down to normal. I was able to beat the 2nd dungeon, but still haven't beat the boss on the 1st. But I know have some hefty upgrades so going to take that on. Overall it is a fun game and based on other reviews, just very different than the 1st. I would say buy it and see for yourself. 9 out of 10 for me!

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Poland over the last 30 days: the 21 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 12 places towards #1, and the 2,501 moves with no price cut behind them went 1 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Really never played this first one, but truly loving this one. The gameplay, graphics, music are all spot on. Addictive game loop and plenty of variety. Highly recommended from me!
Moonlighter 2 is significantly better than the first game and the amount of reviews talking about changes from the first game and how that's a negative somehow is crazy to me. This game flows so much better. For example, I think the combat and how it felt was the weakest part of the first game vs this game and the upgrades you can get that make combat fun, item collection is more meaningful by having the items you collect effect the value of other items instead of just picking up stacks of items, and finally this game gives me more control during the selling stage back at my shop which is all I could ask for. I have really enjoyed this game and the time I have put into and will continue to put into it. Nitpicking every single difference from the first game is I think just doing a disservice to 2 ultimately very solid games that are Moonlighter 1 and 2.
Everything I wanted out of a sequel and more. This is an absolute gem of a game! I hope more people buy this
It's not great but it's not bad either, just a bit meh. Gameplay is rather straightforward and nothing to write home about, basically "we have Hades at home" kinda deal. Soundtrack is great but also gets repetitive since the rest of the audio design is rather weak so its all you hear, constantly, and there are very few dungeons to begin with which doesn't help. The shop system felt rather underwhelming, ironically it's more interesting to manage your relics during the dungeons to level them up as much as you can and make everything fit into your inventory compared to selling them and get the most money out of them as you can.
Really pretty game. Good performance. Plays kinda like bastion. You go to a place that is randomly generated and make a run until the boss. Get as many relics you can gather while upgrading your character for that run. Standard stuff but the game is very cozy which i liked. Plenty of upgrades back at the town and on your shop. Enjoyed what i played so far. First look here : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7aaASmx44LM
Roguelite + Shopkeeping + Deckbuidlung/inventory Puzzle - quite unique game here. Sure there are games who does one category better, but this one does em pretty good and connecting those different elements with one another kinda surpised me that it works so well togehter.
Overall I like this game. Inventory mechanic is fun, combat is fun, making money is fun. BUT despite the recommendation of this game has alot of problems, and other aspect that frustrates me, that I was hoping would be fixed in the full release. TLDR, My recommendation is buy it at sale, not at full price until these things are fixed. My complaints are below. Pros - Game is fun. I like the combat, even if it can be pretty simple. Making money is addicting. Inventory management is probably my favorite part. My complaints are long, but the good for me out weight the bad. Cons -Performance sucks. Its gotten better, but I don't comprehend why I have a better time playing this on my steam deck rather than my gaming pc. I have crashed on my desktop setup countless of times. Stuttering sometimes, and even during loading screens are bad for something of this visual artstyle. A PC with the attached specs, should not be having trouble with this game. If it can play cyberpunk, it should be silky smooth, not a road with potholes. -Time. Alot of things take so much time, that's not playing the game. Cutscenes, to boss phases, to animation, to invincibility of the bosses. There are a lot in the boss fight that's not fighting, or at least not actively fighting. Just waiting for them to do a thing, that feels so much slower than it needs to be. Also screw the Manta boss, thats probably the worst fight, not because of difficulty, but because I hate that he goes to his sky island, caused you to chase and have to hit 3 purples balls. Its a waste of time, its not fun, its braindead. I hate that boss so much, I have not gone back to that set of levels after I got what I needed. -No ability to leave or save and come back.... WHY? Its a big time commitment. Its not multiplayer. To prevent save scumming? I would rather have that ability than to deal with a ruined run from a crash, which made me want to throw a controller at my wall. IF you really hate the idea, at least kick me out with my inventory that I had up until that point. Even if it has to count it as a loss and halve my quality (I hate that but I would rather have this than the current BS system). QOF- WHY ARE THERE NO DEPOSIT ALL BUTTON? Am I missing something? Was the command silently added or did I skim the text and not realize it? I don't think it exists? Why is something simple as deposit all not exist in an inventory game? Why are there no default set all price at cheap or perfect, or bit over priced? I'm not saying being able to change prices at the desk, I mean let me at least set the default to cheap so it doesn't auto default to perfect only for a cheap buyer to come and leave unhappy. I hate actively having to set them to cheap each time I place an item. Also... IF I MANAGE TO hit multiple goals like daily goals COUNT THEM AS COMPLETED! ITS FRUSTRATING HAVING TO COMPLETE GOALS I've already done. I don't care if it makes my playtime shorter. I feel robbed having to meet a goal I've already met as another big milestone. Fast travel is... there, but I feel it should be better. The map is so small it shouldn't need a dedicated full map. I want an easier way to fast travel. -I don't know how to say this, but the house upgrades feel really stingy. If anything, it sucks. I know its probably a balance thing, but you almost don't need furniture. I want to place more of them, but the limit prevents me from doing it. Most unlocks kinda suck. If not for the number of store display stands, theres no reason to upgrade the house/store. Story is...Whatever as a someone who didn't play ML1. I almost was tempted to skip every cutscene.
