Moonglow Bay is a cozy fishing adventure with a surprisingly emotional core. You play as a retiree trying to rebuild both your life and the island you share with your spouse—who has been missing for three years. When the final ruling of their assumed death arrives, you decide to step out of your grief and honor the place they loved by restoring the community around you. That premise alone hooked me, and the game delivers on it with heart. The island is full of charming locals, each with their own stories, rumors, and requests. You’ll investigate the town’s so‑called “curse,” restore buildings, cook and gift meals, and help adorable wildlife along the way. Like other cozy games, there’s a satisfying collection loop: catching odd and magical fish, donating them to the aquarium to boost the island economy, and cooking perfect dishes to unlock new recipes. The task board gives you steady goals and a reliable way to earn shells, and building relationships with townsfolk opens up even more quests and recipes. The art style isn’t my usual preference—I lean more toward cartoon or animated visuals—but it genuinely doesn’t detract from the experience. Upgrading your boat as you progress feels rewarding, and discovering new fish never stops being exciting. I originally picked this up after watching my boyfriend play, and now I’m completely hooked. It’s relaxing, addictive, and full of little surprises: fossils to find, photos to take, weird background stories to uncover, and even a journal you can get signed like a yearbook once you become best friends with someone. I’m still holding onto hope that my spouse is alive somewhere out there. I love a good love story, and this game gives me just enough mystery to keep that spark alive. If you enjoy cozy games with heart, community, and a touch of magic, Moonglow Bay is absolutely worth your time.
