Absolutely awfull, refunded after 12 minutes. I had hopes for this game because the art looked great, the facade is over when you start playing. Music: repetitive and ugly Gameplay: clunky, unresponsive controls, you'll die in the first area multiple times (I gave up there). Story: from the very little I saw, there is some lore and story going on. The art/narrative team actually did do their job. definately skip this one.
This game seems unfinished. Too bad, too; lots of potential from the looks of it. Nice artwork. Narration is good. UI is baffling and clunky. Gameplay is equally clunky. Animation is almost acceptable. Music isn't.
This game is not very good. It feels absolutely clunky, like an alpha or something. Very much not a finished product. The artwork is very nice, though...not so much the animations. Maybe if this game was like $1 it would be worth it. I'm going to recommend passing on this one, guys and gals, which saddens me, as I was really hopeful for this title.
A grittier and less forgiving Castle Crashers-like game, with some wonderful hand painted visuals, outlandish designs and atmospheric levels. Have a friend over? Perfect. He can join in the adventure!
Runs at 30fps on a 60hz monitor which makes the game look really ugly. The original ran at 60 fps. If they fix this i'll remove the negative review.
There is a glitch that is preventing me from finishing the game. It started after i died on the last boss.
Simplemente mal hecho.
Moonfall Ultimate is a 2D side-scrolling action RPG developed by Fishcow Studio and published by Wales Interactive that attempts to fuse classic beat-’em-up combat with RPG progression and exploration-driven design. Set in a dark, industrial fantasy world shaped by war and powered by a mysterious resource called Lunarium, the game invites players to step into the role of a recruit fighting to protect a crumbling empire. Its ambition is clear from the outset: combine stylish hand-painted visuals, branching maps, loot progression, and class-based combat into a cohesive action experience. The game offers three distinct classes—the Vanguard, the Elementalis, and the Shadow—each representing a different combat philosophy. The Vanguard leans into durable melee attacks and survivability, the Elementalis channels ranged magical abilities, and the Shadow focuses on agility and precision. This class diversity provides replay potential and allows players to tailor their approach. Leveling up unlocks passive bonuses and encourages gear experimentation, while over 80 items offer incremental stat adjustments that feed into the progression loop. Though not as deep as large-scale action RPGs, the system gives players enough flexibility to refine their builds. Combat forms the core of the experience and revolves around side-scrolling encounters filled with waves of enemies and occasional bosses. Attacks can be chained, and each class features unique skill animations that contribute to visual variety. However, the pacing of combat tends to be deliberate rather than fluid, favoring measured exchanges over rapid combo-driven systems. Some players may appreciate this heavier rhythm, while others might find the responsiveness less satisfying compared to faster-paced action titles. Boss fights provide more memorable moments, demanding awareness of patterns and positioning. Exploration plays a significant role in shaping the overall structure. The game spans thirteen maps, many of which are interconnected and encourage backtracking in a Metroidvania-inspired layout. Hidden quests, lore entries, and side objectives are scattered throughout the world, rewarding players who take the time to explore beyond the main path. This non-linear approach creates a sense of scale, though navigation can occasionally feel uneven due to pacing or combat density. Visually, Moonfall Ultimate stands out through its hand-painted aesthetic. Characters and environments are rendered with detailed textures and a muted, gothic color palette that reinforces the bleak atmosphere. Industrial structures, shadowed forests, and battle-scarred landscapes combine to create a cohesive world that feels somber and grounded. The art direction carries much of the game’s identity, compensating at times for mechanical shortcomings by maintaining a strong visual presence. The inclusion of local cooperative play adds meaningful value. Playing alongside a second player can make encounters feel more dynamic and reduce some of the challenge spikes present in solo play. Cooperative sessions often highlight the complementary strengths of different classes, encouraging teamwork and coordinated combat strategies. An additional Endless Arcade mode extends longevity, offering repeatable combat scenarios for those seeking extended play beyond the main campaign. Narratively, the story remains functional rather than deeply immersive. While the conflict surrounding Lunarium and the empire’s struggles provides context, character development and plot twists take a backseat to gameplay progression. Lore is primarily delivered through environmental storytelling and optional text, making it easy to overlook unless actively pursued. Ultimately, Moonfall Ultimate is an ambitious indie project that combines striking hand-painted visuals, class-based combat, and exploratory level design into a dark fantasy package. While its combat pacing and mechanical execution may not fully satisfy players seeking highly responsive action, its atmosphere and cooperative options give it a distinct identity. For fans of side-scrolling action RPGs who appreciate moody art direction and methodical progression, it offers a substantial adventure with moments of visual and tactical appeal, even if it stops short of fully realizing its ambitious potential.
