Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1/day in the week to Sep 13 → 1.57/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,420 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Choo Choo, coming through!
Monster Train is a very, very good game. It's inferior in most aspects to Slay the Spire, although not in all. Design wise it's heavily leaning toward combinations - less cards per ensemble, but out of the box ability to combine two ensemble that is not just a quasi-gimmick like the prismatic shard in Slay the Spire but actually designed for that. Similarly the playing board has extra dimensions - floors, numbers of entities on both sides - while the card play itself is more limited (although still very much existent and deep). Art is nothing remarquable although it's reasonably pleasant. Music is catchy. While I prefer StS on all of those aspects, it's a matter of taste. What is not though is the fact that the UI is way less polished/well thought than Slay the Spire, by far my biggest issue with the game. It's nothing disastrous but coming from StS, oof. Issues include inability to see the whole board at once (for no reasons other than aresthetic at the -severe- expense of clarity and responsiveness - a major crime shared by Inkulinati, who thinks those constant zoom in zoom out are any good? Jesus.), discard UI that has the wrong trajectory for card pick making discarding the wrong one the default results if you don't circle around things, an enthousiasm for playing card you released 34 thousands mile away from away from a floor after deciding you didn't want to play it on that floor (which it absolutely will nonetheless). In general they were many other things that could have been done but weren't so that the information was less bloated. Lots of numbers without bars, lack of hierarchy in the tool tips... make it very easy to miss informations and give up on learning by the game rule, instead just trying stuff. Which is... doable but StS precisely shown that you could be *actually playing* the game from the first minute, having all the information you need to make decisions. It does share a cons with StS which is no undo/restart the fight but it's vastly more problematic because of the above, the facts that a lot of the time you have to play ♥♥♥♥ to simply get the rule the tool tip wasn't 100% clear about etc. Nothing bad in itself but it's a bit dumb to have to quit to the main menu en re enter the game to restart it. While this all may sound negative let me reiterate this is down the line a brilliant game though. It's *extremely* catchy, packed with interesting mechanics and a solid execution of those. The cost in money is nothing here, it's more about how willing you are to put your finger in the cogs and get eaten by the game. Although from what I understand the endgame isn't eternal like StS, but it sure is hundreds of hours of great fun. Unquestionably worth buying.
this is so good...
There is no way to make any of your cards stronger to start with and just the 1st fight the enemies are strong enough to wipe out your whole team. It's just one big RNG fest to get a good run and waste of time!
