About

Good morning and welcome to the Monorail Transit System connecting the Cities of M and L. This spectacular feat of engineering allows thousands to commute between the Cities each day and mingle with each other.
Every day a hundred new stories are born in the cars running on the track suspended above the Bay.
Every day extraordinary things happen to ordinary people. This is their story.

Silvie and Ahmal, from the City of M and the City of L. Two people who don't know each other, but still affect each other's lives through the monorail they share each day.
They commute between the cities each day at different times. Each day they choose who to talk to on the monorail, how to treat their fellow commuters, and what to do as the monorail makes its run over the Bay.
Each day is a new chapter in their shared story.

As you take control of Ahmal and Silvie each day, you'll meet dozens of people during the commute. How you choose to interact with them is up to you.
The choices you make on the monorail affect their stories - or rather, the shared story they inhabit and you create with every decision and every interaction, leading to one of the multiple endings for Ahmal and Silvie.

As the Monorail Stories unfold, so does the tale of the two cities linked by the track. The two city-states face upheaval and uncertainty, just like the people who pass between them on the monorail each day. Their destinies may very well be decided not by what the people do, but by how they treat one another.

I'll give it a like, because feel you really have to dislike a game to give it a thumbs down, but realistically, if I were rating on a five star scale, it would be more like three stars out of five. I really liked the voice acting; in particular, I definitely felt the emotions of the characters, and in many voice-acted games, the affect is flat. With one caveat; who ever did the English localization had British dialect in mind, while the voice actors have American accents. This leads to occasional infelicities; Americans do not say "Oi!," very much a British locution. The game very much wants you to play through multiple times, to lead to different endings, and that's fine, so far as it goes; but there is no virtual-novel-like skip feature, so you wind up banging keys to get through to the next bit when you've seen it before. And the UX is that the top dialog choice is always default, so you the the risk of inadvertently choosing an option you didn't actually want as you slap rapidly through dialog. There is no player-save, only "continue," so that can be a problem. In addition, some of the endings happen rather quickly, resulting in an unsatisfying narrative, and since there is no player-save, this requires a complete restart. The graphics are perfectly okay for what they are; retro pixel art in a side-scrolling game, but that's a design choice, and not criticizing on that score. My hours on record involve four complete play-throughs; so obviously, I found something to like to explore that far. But you'll note that's still under four hours; the headline price for the game is silly given what it provides. On the other hand, I bought on sale for <$6, and do feel I recieved value for that money. So: buy on sale maybe, there are good things about this game, but there are aspects I would describe as pretty amateurish.
i dont know if the heat this game has gotten is deserved. it is a point n click adventure, and like any of those it has its own world and twists. there's multiple endings and ways to handle things. i thought finishing sylvie and ahmal would unlock more playable characters, was a little strange to have character selection when there is never more than one option.
Short and Sweet - Trying to clear my long backlog by playing shorter games according to HLTB Voice Acting well done and both main characters likeable. Got one of the "bad endings" and although it only took me 1-2 hours I will replay at a later stage. It looks like you cannot reload a previous save but the game has lot of choices. Unsure what bearing that has on the overall ending.
I think the title screen may actually be the best part of the game. It paints a picture of a charming game about two cities connected by a monorail, but the mechanics and writing fail to deliver. You just walk up and down the same train with largely the same people and same points of interaction, with nothing really interesting happening at any point. Conversations are forgettable at best and the voice acting sometimes makes the already janky dialogue even worse. I like the premise, I like the visual style and I like to support games like this, so I'd love to be able to recommend this, but since even my first playthrough is feeling like a chore, I just can't.
I backed this game on Kickstarter and I have to say I am really disappointed with the final product. The inputs lock-up and prevent you from progressing. There wasn't much thought put into this game.
напишу на русском отзыв, несмотря на то, что русского языка в игре нет. так как с точки зрения практики языка на уровне a2-b2 — идеально. сама по себе история приятная, очень понравилась работа с персонажами, хотя моя концовка скорее разочаровала.
5/10 interesting concept but very buggy
:(
cn need.
