It's NOT Monopoly. It doesn't follow the rules of Monopoly. You buy properties, but people can take them away by landing on them and rolling dice. Within 5 minutes, you see the same low-quality cut scenes again and again and again. I was buying this hoping it would be an updated version of Star Wars Monopoly a game that came out on the PC a couple decades ago. So, I thought this might be an update, remaster or remake. It is not. I found it very low quality and not a bit fun. Both sides were terrible. The Star Wars stuff wasn't true to the franchise at all and none of the visuals were up to modern standards. The Monopoly stuff is just a board with dice where you use the dice to get to destinations and buy stuff. But bankrupting your opponent does not win the game, and buying properties does not mean you get to keep them.
My Ubisoft account got blocked, and after four support tickets, they never actually solved the problem—they just kept claiming the issue was resolved and closing the ticket every time. :) After several failed attempts to register a new Ubisoft profile using different email addresses and username combinations that met all the requirements, I gave up and returned the game. Reading the opinions of people who actually managed to play it, I can see I didn't miss out on anything!
I'm really enjoying this. I've been playing themed versions of Monopoly board games for years, and this Star Wars version is fun to watch and play. I can exit any cut scene or character moves with ctrl+b when I want to speed things up, so I always feel in control. The game takes care of all the points and game accounting so all I have to do is strategize and watch groovy Star Wars board animation. I find its more fun not playing with AI players. I just manually build teams of Light and Dark side characters and play each character myself building up influence points for both sides while watching how the story unfolds and power shifts as I play.
barely matches you, and when it does, it drops you into a game thats already mid way through play. who the flip designs games like this and thinks its ok?
This is NOT Monopoly. The only thing that matters in this game is GO events and buying everything you land on even though the other team can take the places you bought at anytime. There is no way to change settings to be a Star Wars THEMED Monopoly game like its advertised and not just GO events that determine the winner. Very misleading.
Zdecydowanie odradzam!
9 Hours in exclusively against AI testing things out so far. Have to say to the devs and everyone involved..... very well done guys give yourselves a pat on the back. Not understanding the negative reviews I've seen on this as it is a dice game and yeah some things can be a bit wild and one sided at times but for the most part it seems to be very fun and a nice mix up from the normal Monopoly we grew up with. Games are at max 60-80 minutes with some of my quicker matches being as quick as 15-20. Really well done even solo and can't wait to try with friends no matter what platform they are on(Very nice to have access to that at launch by the way so thank you guys for that too. Not all games do that). Is it perfect? No game is but honestly the only complaints I found is maybe Kylo Ren's English voice actor didn't quite fit but other characters like Maul are right on the money. There are a few visual bugs but they do not break the game such as Kylo Ren coming out from carbonite with his saber through his body once he gets out of jail but the game certainly has more polish than it does anything else. Single player runs smooth as butter. Multiplayer I have yet to see but seeing people's games online they seem to be smooth as well. Huge jump from my past experience with some other Ubisoft titles such as Uno so far. In conclusion should you add this to your library? As a Star Wars fan 300% yes it is a must have and try. For everyone else watch some gameplay and you'll likely purchase before you're done watching the video. Not quite a 10/10 as there is some things missing I would like to see in the future such as characters(Mando obviously), perhaps even other boards, and modes. In conclusion and as it stands at launch it's around a 9 or 9.5 from this guy. I do recommend and great game to likely have for all ages for community game nights or even family game nights. Enjoy everyone!
"Verbindung zu Ubisoft-Netzwerk nicht möglich" - > ganz schwach, Ubisoft!
Game could be great fun but the Success being based on the passing GO Strictly definitely can cause frustration. Adding a mode to either have Passing GO be Unlimited and it's just a threshold of influence would probably be better. Has some good built in mechanics, but really we need it so Passing GO only the team member that passed GO rolls (so there's a chance to not succeed) and the rewards should only be Money not Influence. Then make it so that after the 8 Passing GOs is when you can "Choose to Give Up - Or Continue The Fight" So if the game is going to long, you can end, or you can go for a "Forever Round" where then the goal is to get 70% Of the Map Influence to Win, making it so it's more worth buying properties and building up defenses. If they release this as an update - I'll rebuy. For Now. Refund Requested.
