About
Welcome, Novice, to Holy Island, home to the greatest monastic library of the Dark Ages! You are tasked with running this revered place of learning, and completing our Legendary Collection...
Every morning new books are delivered, each bearing a distinct symbol upon their cover. Remember them well! Then place them upon shelves according to thine own design.
Cometh the night, you must deliver the Scribes their chosen tomes. Recall where thy books are placed, for this is a test of thine memory!
The Abbot shall reward thy toils with Blessings. Spend them on Perkes to Level Up thy Strength, Speed and Carpentry skill. Or expand the Collection by raising new and lofty shelves or unlocking new chambers.
After dark, vermin, spirits and all manner of beasts shall assail thy Collection. Take up thy dagger, crossbow or holy cross to preserve thy labours. Then use the quill to restore any damaged books. Note that thou can reduce or disable thy foes if a more chilled experience is desired.
Immerse thyself in a host of systems-based emergent gameplay, including simulated flame and combustion, water dousing by pail, the chaotic physics of tumbling and thrown books, a day and night cycle, ballistic weapons and melee combat.

This game is so much fun! Played coop with my best friend when the demo dropped and bought the full game as it released and it's only gotten better. No AI, options to make the game as chill as you like, and the perfect mix of sorting and silly features. Cannot recommend this enough if you want something fun and a little creepy that plays well even on a device with lower specs.
the best sorting game i've played this year simply for the fact that it tries and succeeds to stand on its own without being a copycat of the famous ones. the aesthetic is awesome and so far i had no problem with the gameplay, and i can feel myself pouring a lot more time into this

This game is pretty, fun to play with a friend, and only a little bit scary (optionally).
Cute but short lived game that's both chill and challenging. A neat memory-game style premise with some combat thrown in. Interesting concept and charming design. It's a little buggy, not a lot of content, by the time you "win" the game there's nothing really left for you. Overall, a good game and worth the price as long as you have someone to play it with.
This is a charming little game. If you were ever one of those people that enjoyed the little "sock sorting games" on Facebook, you'll enjoy this. This game puts you in the place of an OCD ridden hooded monk with the sole purpose of protecting their Tomes from rats, skeletons.. and the occasional 7ft tall poltergeist. The game has a very nice progression with the ability to spend Faith in order to upgrade your books, buy tools, upgrade your own abilities ranging from running speed, damage done with weapons, the amount of books you can carry, reducing the amount of cinders a torch will spit and increasing the height of your shelves alongside a few more. It is very clear this game was made with a lot of love. Watching the video of the two people making this game warmed my heart as this is something my partner and myself are trying to go. Create a cosy game that people can enjoy with the person I love. I'm so happy these guys have managed to release their little game and I hope to god it gets more attention. It's one of the reasons I bought this game... well, that and that I'm a sucker for cute logical sorting games.. I found some of the nights got a little hectic - it was a little less of the "cosy chill" game I was looking for - and more of a "Oh my god! There's so much going on! I'm going to anger the abbot if I don't get these crazy fast readers their tomes on chicken legs, clay pots and goats!". But, the Devs have understood people may not want a hectic experience.. or.. maybe they do? You are able to change a lot of settings for the perfect pace for you. You can change the amount of different enemies spawn during a night so you can tailor your game to your taste. I love it when developers do this. It's a wonderful addition. You always have that little "ahhh" moment at the end of a day once you've finished sorting all your books into the different sections of your library. Seeing all your food books lines up nicely on a shelf, your animal related books set in their little room or your "RPG" style books all sectioned into Shields, Helmets and weapons scratches a very particular itch in the back of my mind - and honestly it's very addicting. Once again, I'm so happy for you guys releasing your game. Congratulations, I hope you do well, and I can't wait what other things you add to this. Honestly - on first look I didn't think it would do it for me. But I played the demo - I reached the end and found myself wanting more. The rest is history. It is definitely worth the price. The review is finished - go and buy the game and support the devs in their dreams!
My husband and I have spent a good couple of afternoons running around. it's not that deep of a game, there's no hidden lore, there's no story. It's not trying to do that. It's a fun way to spend a couple of afternoons, organising, running around, working out systems that work for you. It can have combat all the way from easy all the way to 'Oh my god, the rats, please stop with the rats'. I'd recommend it if you like organising games. Definitely preferred multiplayer as running around on your own can get hectic.
Lost all of our books to a poltergeist when we had no money and that completely ended our run. Absolute vibe killer. There should have been some sort of warning that that can happen.
As a purchaser of Arcane Library and other tidy-up games, I was a happy customer for this one! I only play solo, but I like the additional challenges of trying to manage an overwhelming amount of books being delivered and returned within a time limit. Also love the customisation, so I can do things like keep the enemies but remove the pests, or increase the spawn of certain enemies (more fire archers - more!). The only thing I'd say is that I wish there was more of a clear idea of where books "should" go so I can optimise, but I'm sure that's something players will figure out as the game's lifecycle goes on! Great stuff. I'm enjoying it a lot. I hope more players of Arcane Library check this out and give it the visibility boost it deserves!
no silly review with this one, i really enjoy how the settings allow YOU to select how you want the gameplay to be. relaxed or not, easy W
Fun little game! Definitely recommend co-op. Only a few hours of gameplay, but well worth the $8!
