A fun game with a lot of potential! It was exciting to finally get a missile kill once I understood the controls.
Note: Dead PvP game This game contains no meaningful single player content. There are no available servers and no player population. This game cannot be played as intended.
This is War Thunder from Temu. Two planes, almost certainly asset flipped, laughably badly generated terrain, terrible controls, terrible flight simulation... this truly has to be the worst flight sim on Steam. And flight sims are a niche market, there really are very few of them. So that's quite an achievement. So, Modern Air Combat: Beyond Visual Range is a dead PvP game. Why did it fail? It's video game autopsy time! Almost every PvP exclusive game on Steam fails. Only a tiny proportion of them "go viral". This game failed for many of the same reasons those others fail. The chief of which is the developer thinking that their game will "go viral" without actually creating any reason for it do so. Competition amongst PvP centric games is extreme, and there's only a finite player base to appeal to. This game failed to reach any kind of critical mass and died as a result. Let's go into some of the reasons this particular game failed to appeal to gamers, despite the zero up front cost. First and foremost, there's no meaningful single player content. The developer gambled that other players would be an acceptable substitute for adding storytelling, level design etc to the . They lost that bet. Without a huge community of players or single player content to add a lasting value to the game, the game dies. Developers must learn that other players are not an acceptable substitute for adding content to a game. The game graphics look better than you might expect, but that's just because it looks like some or all of them are "borrowed" from asset stores or wherever. Gamers can tell... and it comes across as insincere. There's also the old adage that those who lack the budget and talent to make their own game assets usually lack the budget and talent to do the rest of the job of game development properly, too. You're forced to sign a highly questionable yet legally unenforceable End User License Agreement... for such a relatively low effort, low quality product, this comes across more as a delusion of grandeur than anything else. This agreement includes questionable requirements that may attempt to revoke consumer law protections that gamers expect to have, which is also highly problematic. Developers must learn they are here to serve gamers, not control them. I had my cat walk over the keyboard while the EULA was displaying, which fixed that problem for me. On the matter of pricing and value for gamers, most "free" games on Steam aren't really free. There's often nasty mobile app cash shops, or content locked behind DLC, or donations being requested, or any other number of shady pricing schemes that could mislead gamers, but in this case I'm glad to say this really does appear to be a fully free game. Nothing demonstrates a developers belief in themselves and their work than giving it away without any remuneration. This is a service to themselves, and the gaming industry, and should be applauded. Of course, just because something is free, doesn't necessarily mean it's valuable, or something you might want to spend your time on. Despite having no up-front cost, this failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 7 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Not this time. This isn't worth downloading. While this won't cost you any money, you get what you pay for, and sometimes, even when the game is free, it's still not enough.

what's a BVR game without cockpit view and why not add multiplayer ? it would have been a major success if it only had a few more aircrafts, cockpit view & mp.
Despite being free, this game is garbage. Pick up Project Wingman or Ace Combat if you want good aerial combat. Controls are clunky, the weaponry is meh. Finally get close enough to launch a missile, but not sure if you're even locked on, then boom you get shot down. I can't say at this moment that I've played a worse game. I get it's made by one person, and I hope they work to improve it, but yeah, this one just isn't for me.

没有驾驶舱视角,画质一般,建模粗糙。作为主要用键盘操作的游戏,开火居然要腾出一只手点鼠标。不知道怎么的,我还无法设置Y轴反转,这对模拟飞行玩家极不友好。 btw.we need chinese.
I should not be allowed to play this game. I'm not even allowed to fly a plane in real life! And now I can do it in a video game? The world as we know it is a thing of the past...
