Model Railway Easily Christmas

It's fun to play, but since it's free, there's not much you can do with it. The fixed board size, no ability to lift tracks one above the other, makes it less enjoyable. In general it's great, something like this with the ability to add more stuff, locomotives, wagons - modify through the workshop and have it as a screensaver would be interesting or a demo show at some store/station.

Model Railway Easily Christmas is not a game. Games contain meaningful gamelike interaction and game loops, which are absent in this software. Instead of being a game, Model Railway Easily Christmas is a software application that allows you to build a simple diorama with a model train in it. Why? Nobody knows... there's no goal here. In actual games like Train Simulator, you're given goals like traversing a specific route in a simulationist environment. Not so here... at best you could describe this as a "sandpit", but while some sandpits still give you goals, this does not. There's no motivation to do anything here. For those unfamiliar with what actually makes something a game, a "game loop" describes the interaction and feedback a gamer has when playing a game. Tetris, for example, has a game loop where a random block appears, the gamer interacts with the block to position it, and then the game decides if that finishes a row or not, increases the players score if any rows were completed, then gives the gamer another block to position. Counter-Strike has a game loop where a player seeks another player, tests their skill against that player by shooting them or being shot, the computer rewards the player if they win, and then if the player survives, they repeat that loop. There's no loop here, no true interactive feedback. It simply is not a game, it cannot be "played". This has misleadingly been launched in the "Games" section of Steam instead of the "Software" section. This is a common mistake for developers who are new to Steam, or don't understand the difference between games and software which isn't a game. It seems this software published incorrectly as a game is simply lack of experience/knowledge of the correct process. Publishing things which aren't games on Steam in the Games section as games is misleading to gamers and somewhat harmful, because it pollutes the Steam marketplace and takes away visibility and market exposure for genuine game developers who do the right thing and make games for gamers. There are no gameplay loops in this software, no "gameplay", no meaningful game like interaction. It's a software application and as such has no merits as a video game for gamers. Because of this, I cannot recommend this non-game software as a game to gamers.

Yea. Its okay. I wasted an hour playing and it wasn't too horrible. The biggest thing that got me was, Its supposed to be a Christmas game, YET theres absolutely no Christmas decorations anywhere to Decorate your map. Come on, really. Theres 1 tree. 1 small bush, 1 large bush, 2 woman, 1 man with a breifcase on the phone, and one man wearing an orange jumper like an electrician or something. THERES A PARKING LOT but ONE CAR and ONE PICKUP TRUCK. You know how bad it looks when you fill a parking lot with only two kinds of vehicles? No? well it looks horrible. THERES NOT EVEN A CHRISTMAS TREE TO PLACE!!! Theres like 2 factories, 2 stations, and a few other stupid things that don't make sense, The only thing CHRISTMAS-Y about this game is that the trains have festive ♥♥♥♥ painted on them and the music is obnoxious piano with bells so its xmas-y sounding. This game could be awesome it they added more things to decorate with, and maybe actually let you design your starting map- not make us all use the same one with a giant rock in the middle of it. Like I said, I was able to waste and hour playing before I got to pissed off by the EXTREMELY LIMITED menu of items to chose from. BUT hey its a free game, so they are not going to add to it anymore, and I won't play it again. Once you use the few options you have it starts to look bad reusing the same 2 cars and houses.

Bruh What The Hello Its not just a problem but randomly out of nowhere (Like im mad Mad Right Now) like all of a sudden after getting model railway millionaire and the next day i started having issues with model railway easily 2 model railway easily christmas and model railway millionaire like the mouse looks likeits flat and the buttons are not working but i am slowly descovering its recovering but i both not and do reconmened it but on the bright side its a very fun game even the map is small you can actually make it very busy and very detailed. i have a thought that maybe steam needs updateing? but yes its a wonderful game and i hope i figure it out one day so i can enjoy the game again!
