Building a model kit is something I've never done in VR, and actually never thought of. At the current price of 0.79, this is quite something to complain about when looking at the concept of the game. Watch my first gameplay here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KipClgG6mxU With a small price we also get a small game, you have some kits that you can put together but the number of parts is very small to call it kits, you will therefore spend much more time painting the parts here, unfortunately you don't have paint brushes here but rather markers, which makes coloring quite unpleasant in VR, but whoever likes building model kits in real life might also like it have the patience to do this in VR. What I find quite surprising is the steam workshop available for Model Kit Simulator VR, I think most people among us can easily imagine that at a workshop like this one can find more realistic kits that are also more complicated to put together but unfortunately there is currently only 1 kit and some extra parts that you can use to make your own kit in the in-game workshop. With an active workshop and/or more challenging kits I would definitely play the game several times but at the moment this is a one timer for me.
This is a GREAT idea for a VR game! Feels like a neat little passion project. Only 4 simple models at time of review, hopefully there's more to come. I'd be willing to pay more for dlc models (maybe of an unnamed mecha piloting variety? ;D ). Game is as basic as it gets but at only $0.99 there's really nothing to stop anyone from trying it out.

Keine Empfehlung bisher. The idea is certainly good and you can guess that it can be quite fun to assemble and paint models virtually. No modeller would place himself in the middle of his casting frames. In Model Kit Simulator we stand on our cast frames at the work table and can't even sit on a chair. The whole game can only be played standing up, that will be quite exhausting in the long run, with this monotonous work. Unfortunately you can't move around in your room either. The teleportation area is only limited to the area in front of the worktop. The only thing that helps is a large roomscale area. If we now place a box with a cast frame on the table, we can separate the components from the cast frame using model making pliers. We use our magic tongs for this, because although they can be easily squeezed together, the parts simply fall out of the casting frame when touched with the tongs. A magic file is also available for deburring. If we hold the tool against the old casting channels they simply disappear. No filing is necessary. It's magic. Painting the parts is not easy either, there are two pens, one thick and one thin. No brushes, spray bottles or anything else. The thickness of the pencil is adapted to the part to be painted. So we can paint a wall with the same pen, like a tree for example. The pen varies the size by itself. This is very annoying, because it takes forever to paint small parts like chains or similar. The color selection works well, but unfortunately there are only a few colors and some of them were probably bought in a double pack. But the application of the color does not always work as desired, sometimes parts of the model are painted where the pen does not fit at all. A clean work is not possible this way. It is also annoying that parts of the model will assemble themselves when touched, if they are pushed together by mistake on the table. Unfortunately, thanks to Superglue, you cannot get them apart again. This does not make the already complicated painting process any easier. The program still lacks a lot of work, more and realistic tools and brushes as well as other tools from model making would be desirable. No recommendation so far.
Very basic so far. I bought it at 99 cents so I won't be asking for a refund but it is certainly not worth more than that yet. It has a lot of potential though. Pros: -Great concept -Chill environment Cons: -Painting is VERY hard. Often times I would try to paint something but couldn't reach the model as my vive wands would collide before the marker reached the object -No audio as far as I could tell Requested Features: -Filing down the plastic leftovers isn't very immersive currently. Just drag the tool into contact with the nub and it disappears. Maybe explore other more realistic or at least not instant options? -Maybe add directions for more complicated models if they come -More models maybe as DLC, but previews of the DLC in game would be nice so that I can see what I'm buying beforehand. Maybe an item on a shelf that toggles between the piece sheets (To show me complexity, as I'd be dissapointed to buy something I thought was gonna take me some time to put together only to find out it's 8 pieces) and the completed model when you interact with it. Final Verdict: For 99 cents its worth it, but just barely Keep up the good work man, its a fantastic concept and you should commit to it if you have the skills to deliver.
Great little concept. The painting allows for a bit of detail and the file is a nice touch.
Experienced on the Oculus Rift & Windows Mixed Reality
You can view my gameplay & initial impressions review here: https://youtu.be/sjgLsgqsMKQ I bought this on sale for .89 cents. It's so low-priced that I can give an easy recommend. However, be warned, there is nothing smooth or polished about this experience. Everything is super clunky. There are 4 different model kits to choose from. There's also a workshop with 2 additional mini-kits (although one of them is just another car). You can teleport the area of some pre-defined nodal locations. You can also snap turn. I was able to play the game seated. I found all the interactions to be simple and needing lots of polish. Sometimes when I used the clipping tool, it would just automatically knock off the pieces and other times I had to actually press trigger to cut them off, which involved both hands going invisible and losing my grip on the object. There's the file that you only need to touch the nubs from the edges for them to disappear. Lastly, you have two different sized painting brushes: fine and wide brush. The problem with painting is that your motion controllers will crash against each other when trying to paint. So you need to grab the objects from the farthest edge in order to be able to paint the object. There was also a tracking issue with my motion controller at times, which other people have also complained about. It's only .99 cents, so I can look past all the issues. Just beware that this game has several. I would rather have paid more for a smooth experience. Rate 6.5/10.
honestly the most mind numbing thing I've done in VR, and this is coming from someone who will go to VRChat just to stare at myself in a mirror for several hours.
Sound sehr Beruhigend. Angebot der Modelle , individuell erweiterbar.
Keep up the good work man, its a fantastic concept and you should commit to it if you have the skills to deliver.
