About
Doctor Malice has opened her castle gates to all monsters- scaley, slimey, or fur-faced. They’re welcome to stay indefinitely... so long as they can pay rent. Otherwise, they can volunteer for an experiment here or there as payment. But life in Shiverfall Peaks isn’t as peaceful as the monsters hoped. Local villagers, now aware of the outcasts’ refuge, do what they do best- form an angry mob! Will you let them run your monstrous family out with torches and pitchforks, or will you fight for your place in this wicked world?
Recruit a plethora of classic monsters to aid in battle. Zombies, Witches, and Goblins, OH MY!
Slingshot physics-based destruction to village structures. Fling everything from Toads to Jack-O-Lanterns to, yes, even your monster residents for devilish damage and gruesome status effects.
Spend gold to repair and upgrade your castle defenses between battles. Build an impenetrable fortress of fear that no villager dare enter.
Volunteer monsters for mad science experiments. A risky method of earning gold and stat bonuses!
Customize the looks and names of your monsters. Upgrade and equip them with powerful gear. Be careful about getting too attached to your residents, however. Even in a castle full of the undead, permadeath is a killer!

Video: https://youtu.be/F7xuP9Weabc So while the video above really just covers some kind've early-ish level stuff, it gets the general bits down. I had to erase my save because I unlocked an additional difficulty that wasn't really giving me fun time vibes and so I erased my save to start over. Anyway, welcome to a Monster Mashed Up extravaganza. It's not Angry Birds. It's not Scorched Earth. It's a bunch of plucky monsters fighting townsfolk and stuff in a game that kind've feels like Angry Birds and a delightful physics based extravaganza. You recruit monsters, level them up over time, equip them with gear, and even send them to the laboratory to hopefully increase their stats. You'll earn money for each level, how much depends on if you get lucky with items during that level's run. Or if you complete both objectives. You can sell gear you don't want. You can get rid of monsters even. Heck, a fun way to attempt a level is to recruit as many as you can and sacrifice the ones you haven't grown attached to. Upon your return you'll only need to pay rent for the ones that are alive. The trailer really shows you all you need to see, and if it tickles your interest - it's worth jumping in. The game has a lot of replay value because you can replay levels, and there are a splendid amount of unlocks available. Unlocks will come to you as you finish a row of levels. Upgrades mean you'll likely do fairly well, though it does take a minor bit of strategic thinking to ensure you choose the right upgrades. Overall, it's a fun game that you an play in short bursts of time or lose far more time because you need to avenge Dracula the clown that just got killed by a bunch of villagers.
Mobs N Monsters is a cool new game by Ghostie Games, the gang who brought us Spotless. It features a similar weird-but-cool business mechanic where you have to cover costs after every level. Levels have same map but randomised missions for tons of replayability. Mobs 'N Monsters is kinda like a mission-based Angry Birds. Requires surprisngly careful resource management. Tons of items & upgrades to find & unlock. Fun. Full of character, great sense of humour. Lots of levels & variety. Great casual game. Mobs N Monsters is a chaotic survival-action game that throws players into nonstop battles against endless enemy hordes while focusing heavily on rapid progression, upgrade stacking, and fast-paced arena combat. The game embraces a straightforward design philosophy built around surviving increasingly dangerous waves of monsters while slowly evolving into an unstoppable force capable of handling overwhelming odds. Rather than relying on story-driven content or cinematic presentation, the experience focuses entirely on addictive combat loops, escalating chaos, and the constant satisfaction of becoming stronger with every successful run. The gameplay begins immediately with aggressive pacing. Players are placed into hostile arenas where enemies attack continuously from multiple directions, forcing constant movement and quick reactions from the very beginning. Early encounters provide enough breathing room to understand the basic mechanics, but the difficulty quickly escalates as larger enemy swarms and stronger monster types begin appearing together. The game thrives on creating situations where players barely survive impossible-looking scenarios through careful positioning and efficient use of upgrades. One of the game’s strongest qualities is its progression system. Defeating enemies rewards players with upgrades that enhance damage output, survivability, mobility, and special combat abilities. Watching a weak starting character slowly transform into a devastating powerhouse becomes one of the most satisfying aspects of the experience. Every new upgrade immediately impacts gameplay, making combat feel progressively more explosive and rewarding as enemy numbers continue increasing. Combat itself is simple, responsive, and easy to understand. Attacks feel fast and impactful, movement remains smooth even during crowded encounters, and the controls allow players to focus entirely on surviving the chaos unfolding around them. The game avoids unnecessary mechanical complexity, which helps maintain a strong arcade-style rhythm throughout each run. This accessibility makes the gameplay enjoyable for both newcomers to the genre and players already familiar with survival arena games. Enemy variety helps maintain tension during longer sessions. Different monsters introduce unique behaviors that force players to constantly adapt their movement and combat priorities. Some enemies rely on sheer numbers to overwhelm the player, while others attack aggressively with ranged projectiles or dangerous charging patterns. As the waves intensify, multiple enemy types begin combining together in increasingly chaotic ways, creating frantic situations where survival depends on split-second decisions and effective crowd management. Visually, Mobs N Monsters adopts a colorful and readable presentation that supports the fast-paced gameplay effectively. Enemy designs are easy to distinguish even during large-scale battles where the screen fills with creatures and attack effects. The graphics themselves are relatively modest overall, but the clear visual design helps players react quickly during intense encounters. Readability becomes especially important during late-game waves where dozens of enemies may attack simultaneously from every direction. The sound design contributes positively to the overall atmosphere as well. Weapon effects feel satisfying, enemy sounds help reinforce the constant pressure of combat, and the energetic soundtrack maintains momentum during long survival sessions. Audio feedback during combat helps attacks feel impactful while keeping the gameplay exciting even during repetitive wave encounters. Although the soundtrack itself is not particularly memorable, it complements the game’s chaotic pacing effectively. Replayability is one of the game’s more enjoyable features. Since every run involves different upgrade paths and evolving combat situations, players are encouraged to experiment with various strategies and ability combinations. The constant pursuit of stronger builds and longer survival times creates an addictive loop that makes it easy to start another run immediately after failure. This replay-focused structure gives the game much of its long-term appeal despite its relatively simple overall design. However, the game does struggle with repetition after extended play sessions. While the combat remains entertaining initially, the overall gameplay formula changes very little over time. Most runs revolve around surviving enemy waves, collecting upgrades, and repeating the same progression cycle repeatedly. Players searching for major gameplay evolution, narrative depth, or highly varied environments may eventually feel the repetition becoming difficult to ignore. The indie production scale is also noticeable throughout the experience. Environmental variety is somewhat limited, animations remain basic, and the overall presentation lacks the polish associated with larger survival-action titles. Menus and interface systems are functional but simplistic, reinforcing the feeling that the game focuses primarily on gameplay mechanics rather than audiovisual refinement. While these shortcomings do not seriously damage the core experience, they prevent the game from feeling especially distinctive within the crowded survival genre. Another issue appears during later stages where the sheer number of enemies and effects can occasionally make combat visually overwhelming. There are moments where the battlefield becomes difficult to read clearly due to the amount of movement and visual chaos happening simultaneously. Although this intensity contributes to the excitement of survival gameplay, it can also create situations where deaths feel caused more by screen overload than strategic mistakes. Despite these flaws, Mobs N Monsters succeeds because it understands what makes survival-action games satisfying. The game delivers rewarding progression, nonstop combat, and addictive upgrade systems that keep players engaged through repeated attempts. It never tries to become overly complicated or burden the player with unnecessary systems. Instead, it focuses entirely on providing energetic combat and steady progression within a simple but enjoyable framework. Mobs N Monsters may not reinvent the survival-action genre or offer the depth of larger roguelike experiences, but it still provides a consistently entertaining gameplay loop built around chaotic battles and rewarding progression. Its repetitive structure and limited presentation prevent it from becoming a standout masterpiece, yet the fast-paced combat and satisfying upgrade systems still make it an enjoyable experience for fans of arena survival games. Players looking for accessible action, escalating difficulty, and addictive wave-based combat will likely find plenty of fun hidden within the game’s relentless monster-filled chaos. Rating: 6/10
