I had high hopes for this game, looking at the screenshots and the description on the store page. It reminded me a lot of the old school Apogee platformers like Commander Keen and Crystal Caves which I loved playing in the nineties. I struggled with it for about forty minutes, and while I do think it has a lot of potential, I must unfortunately give it a negative review, based on the small part of it that I was actually able to experience. - Jump controls are floaty and imprecise. I never felt like I had tight control over when my dwarf would jump, and where he would land. - The dwarf does not automatically grab onto ropes and ladders when he jumps toward them. Instead you must press the "up" key at exactly the right moment to make him grab them, otherwise he just falls straight down (usually landing on spikes or some other hazard). This makes it very difficult to complete stages where you must jump from one rope to another. - There is a single "attack" key that is used both for attacking monsters, and for breaking blocks. Unfortunately it is difficult to control the direction of the attack; the dwarf would often accidentally break the blocks underneath him (and fall into a death trap below) rather than attacking the monster next to him as I intended. - There are monsters that fly across the screen, and can pass through walls and floors to get to you. While it is sometimes possible to kill these monsters (if you can line up the attack correctly), there are often several of them coming at you from different directions, which makes it impossible to explore the map at a reasonable pace. - There are places where the dwarf gets stuck, and stops responding to the movement keys. I cannot tell whether this is a bug, or an intentional hazard to be avoided, but either way once you get stuck it means inevitable death once the flying monsters catch up to you. As bad as all of that is, I could have dealt with it, if not for the absolute worst problem: - There are no checkpoints in the game, as far as I can tell. If you die, you get teleported back to the very beginning of the level, and everything is reset: all of the gates you had opened are closed again, and you have to restart from scratch, replaying the same parts over and over. This is really bad, especially in a game where most of the fun comes from exploring the huge, maze-like levels, but you never even get to see most of it. I don't know whether the developers intended for the player to have to complete an entire level without dying, but given the size of the levels, the poor controls, and the large number of hazards and monsters, I think it would be nearly impossible for all but the most hardcore players to get even halfway through the first level. At least, I do not have the patience for it, which is why I refunded the game. If the problems I have outlined in this review ever get fixed, I might consider buying it again.

Mistaker is a "template" flip. The "developer" filled out a basic template in the craptastic Corgi Engine (a basic template/construction kit that leverages Unity to make really crap games) and put it on Steam as if it was a real game. Unsurprisingly, the result of this kind of laziness is pure garbage in terms of "being a game". Mistaker is very awful badly made 2D retro platformer, to almost comical extremes of bad. The developer grabbed a bunch of different elements of Corgi Engine and slapped them around the 2D level design, not really caring if it works or makes sense. This is really just laughable shovelware... remember, this isn't someone trying to learn to make video games (by using a codeless construction kit), it's a cash grab, they're charging money for this trash. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. The game features somewhat lazy, simplistic 2D graphics, of the type you normally expect to see in low effort Flash/browser games and mobile apps. Considering this is being evaluated as a PC game, having the graphics phoned in like this isn't going to result in a high quality, visually impressive game that PC gamers are used to seeing. The controls can't be customised (there's an option to customise the controls that doesn't work, which will be an annoyance for many, but it can also render the game unplayable for differently-abled gamers. You'd think they'd test this, but just like these guys ripped off Corgi Engine, filled out a template, and aren't really game developers, they're not software testers either. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. The poor quality of this game is reflected in the general public reception. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the game all-time peak player count was only ONE player. That's right, only one person ever played this at a time. When I played this for the purposes of reviewing it, I equalled the peak player count for the game. OUCH. The only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam, the overwhelming lack of interest in the game is remarkable, but also to be expected. This complete and utter rejection of the game from gamers should be a keen information point for anyone considering buying shovelware like this. Gamers just didn't take this seriously, and for good reason. Mistaker is relatively cheap at $1 USD, but it's not worth it. Given the defects and quality issues with the game, coupled with the unrealistic price, this is impossible to recommend.
Bad, bad, bad. Very poorly made. Big NO, sorry! Here's a funny note, though: I was surprised that such a low quality game had a key rebind feature, but yeah, huh, what was I thinking? Of course it doesn't work. :D
