Veri game, much good!
BRIGHTNESS SETTING KEEPS RESETTING! Any time I tried to adjust the brightness, it would reset to such a low level that I couldn't really see anything unless my flashlight was on it. Not even the walls. Seems like it could be a really fun game, if only I could see...
First-person monster survival game with kind of addictive gameplay where you try to reach a higher wave every time. You find weapons on the map and can upgrade them by either fusing already found ones or after each round in the store with the cash you earned by killing the monsters. Currently there are 10 upgradable weapons (including the grenade) and 2 maps to choose from. It runs well on my PC, im running the RTX 2080 and i7 9700k with 32GB of ram.
Don’t Get Misplaced — Or You’ll Die!
Test your skills in a rogue-like FPS survival game, upgrade your arsenal and survive as long as you can!
Story
No story content.
Gameplay
Misplaced is a roguelike first-person survival shooter and the debut game from Gamhalla. The game is fun and well-balanced, pitting you against endless waves of enemies. Dying ends the run—your total kills are displayed, and the last wave you cleared on the map is saved and shown on the map selection screen. There’s a wide variety of weapons to choose from—pistol, shotgun, zap gun, Uzi, shuriken, and more—which can be upgraded either in the shop or by finding duplicates in the game world. Finding duplicate weapons only grants ⅓ of a full upgrade level, so you must find the weapon three times to increase it by one level. A weapon must be found at least once before it can be upgraded in the shop. Upgrading increases the weapon’s damage and max ammo capacity. Between waves, you get 60 seconds of peace to explore, gather resources, or visit the shop to spend your hard-earned money on upgrades and ammo.
Enemies
Enemies grow stronger and more numerous with each wave. There’s a wide variety of enemy types—some are faster, some deal more damage, and others are tankier. Occasionally, enemies spawn in different colors to indicate upgrades, enhancing their health, speed, or damage output.
Environment
The game features two maps: Farm and Lost House. Farm is an outdoor map centered around a farmhouse, while Lost House takes place mostly inside a large house, with a small exterior area. Both maps encourage exploration to find weapons, ammo, armor, and orange bottles that, when shot, permanently increase your max HP until you start a new game.
Visual Design & Sound Design
The visuals are cartoonish and child-friendly, featuring no blood. Damage numbers appear when attacking enemies, providing instant feedback. Each enemy has a distinct appearance and sound. The HUD is simple, informative, and unobtrusive.A red ball of light guides you to the shop, while whispering in a strange, demonic language. Items in the environment emit faint red sparks, making them easier to spot, while armor plates emit white sparks instead. The music is energetic and perfectly fits the game’s vibe.
Constructive Criticism
Nothing worth mentioning.
The Verdict
If you enjoy FPS survival games, I highly recommend Misplaced—a simple yet incredibly fun horde-based shooter. Looting weapons, armor, and max HP upgrades while battling waves of enemies is addictive and satisfying. Simple, cheap, and endlessly entertaining.
Rating: 8/10
