Beautiful environments with an amazing soundtrack and chill gameplay. It's parkour was so good that most modern games with parkour elements use it as the blueprint, and yet none have matched it in terms of technicality. For example most games just have an auto mantle, but in ME you can also jump into ledges without holding forward to simply hang on and be able to shimmy left or right. I didn't mind the combat because drop kicking and disarming dudes is fun. Unironically playing this has motivated me to get back into running so I can get in better shape.

Don't let my low playtime deceive you. Along with Portal 1 and 2, this is one of those games that I've lost count of how many times I've played through it over the last decade or so on both the Xbox 360 and the PC. A lot of games from the last couple of generations have taken cues from this game mechanically speaking, but I'd argue that none of them have managed to do first-person platforming quite as well as this game has. Easily one of my favorite games ever made. Also, hot take: I'm not the biggest fan of Catalyst. Mechanically speaking, there were some things I preferred about that one (like how the roll preserves your momentum, for example), but narratively speaking, I didn't care for them going full-on cyberpunk, especially since one of my favorite things about this game is that the setting actually feels believable. Anyway, upshot of all this is that this game is peak, and you should play it if you haven't already. Even if you have played it, you should still play it again.

So. Good. They really don't make games like this anymore. This feels like it has the resources and polish of a triple A game, but with the boldness and attention to detail of a smaller game. The distinct visuals and soundtrack of different areas are a vibe, sure, but the story gives it *substance*.
