What I expected: speedy traversing through the skyscrapers. What I actually got: Super Mario Brothers in first person. I still recommend it for (then) unique gameplay, beautiful graphics and atmosphere, but it is not for everyone.
This game is a classic, only thing to be aware of for this game is that PhysX the old 32 bit physics driver is nearly impossible to get working, but it is definitely not needed. The game is short with the main campaign being beatable in 4 hours if you have a general understanding of the level, but the game is highly replayable. If you see it on sale get it!
Hard to imagine Mirror's Edge as a full priced game. In the current year Mirror's Edge is less-than-$5 and runs on a potato. Is it worth $5 just for a look at the cool skyline which would be no better or worse if you used the command prompt and turned on noclip? Mirror's Edge is truly epic at the beginning, jumping directly into the action, but then there is not a lot of momentum or raised stakes with the ending being basically the same as the first couple levels and anticlimactic. Mirror's Edge is perhaps one of the first "fake indie games" like a prediction, from a time when indie games were rarely 3D. Personally while it is worth a try for the cinematic experience, the best parts are when challenge is introduced and for players who liked the challenging parts of Mirror's Edge more than the cinematic parts I would recommend Neon White as an alternative.
very replayable
One of the most beautiful games that still holds up visually, musically and gameplay wise with how fluent the parkour mechanics work. A must have.
What a trip! sleek and timeless. Playing this on the PS3 was like breathing the same air Faith did on those rooftops
