me gusto, es coro el juego pero es entretenido, el combate es un asco, nose si comprarme el 2 (que supuestamente es como un reebot y secuela)
It's also so peak...
very replayable
топовая игруха, имеет свой ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ вайб. 10/10
es un juegazo si te gustab los juegos historia y de parkour
There are two schools of thought when it comes to parkour style movement in the mid-to-late 2000s and what came after, ignoring anything related to the actual structure of these games: Mirror's Edge, and Assassin's Creed. Assassin's Creed focuses on having a balance of movement and combat options, with fairly scripted, rigid, and simplified movement, but still leaves a bit of room for expression here and there depending on your game knowledge and what that specific game lets you do and get away with, along with having large and open environments that let you do as you please in them. Using the original as the most fitting example, it has the most rigid and simple movement in the series, but you CAN see examples of players making it work and having a deliberate flow to things, even with a game from 2008. Mirror's Edge, on the other hand, is almost ENTIRELY focused on movement, player expression, and the player having a direct "presence" in the world around them. Faith has inertia-based movement like Sonic, unlike Altair who's only two static speeds of fast or slow. Faith can run along walls and slide along the ground using said inertia, Altair can't. Faith's general movement, at its best, is smooth, precise, and free-flowing, while Altair has a deliberate stop-and-go flow between doing one thing and then another. It sounds great on paper! So why am I giving this a negative rating? Because when it works, it's great, and when it doesn't, you're bashing your head into the same exact section over and over again for several minutes as the music awkwardly waits for you to get a move on, and there just aren't enough levels in the campaign that take full advantage of her moveset. Unlike Faith, Altair can climb up, down, and all around almost any wall he comes across, but Faith relies on certain specific walls in order to wall run, god forbid if that wall has pipes or AC units sticking out that completely halt her momentum. Altair can climb up to a ledge, turn around, and hop to the ledge behind him and latch onto it without too much fuss; Faith has to do an entire small maneuver just to gather up enough momentum, run up to a wall, climb up, turn around in the nick of time before falling, and THEN jump, and even then it's no guarantee that you'll always make it to that specific thing you're trying to reach; Faith generally has to build up speed before committing to any moves like that and risking a death and return to checkpoint, and stopping that momentum at any point whatsoever (or dying, which happens a lot) stops the entire flow of the game itself, unlike Altair who almost constantly maintains the same desired speeds. THAT is the difference between Altair's movement and everyone who came after him, and Faith's, whose VERY important and far-reaching influence generally lends itself more as a side mechanic to other characters who inherited that style of movement (ie the parkour in Titanfall): a constant, persistent, easy to understand consistency. It is the lack of that which, at times, makes going through each level an exercise in frustration. The art style and environment design holds up remarkably well 17 years later, the music by Solar Fields fits great with the setting, I actually kinda sorta liked the combat, and at times, the illusion of being in a small part of a larger city worked its magic on me. But Mirror's Edge suffers the greatest flaw of all for a game of its kind: being a trendsetter. The story isn't great and leaves a lot to be desired, the actual fist-fighting part of the combat is dead simple and often just gets you killed, the actual level design isn't the clearest at times and doesn't flow the greatest towards the end, and Faith felt awful to handle at times because of that lack of consistency, both in her movement and the level design itself, since the two are almost synonymous with each other. I also just didn't like Faith as a character because a lot of the time, she was just doing stupid ♥♥♥♥ for the sake of doing stupid ♥♥♥♥ just because her sister got framed (yes, I know you control the buttons you press, but you ARE forced to kill entire platoons of soldiers sometimes), and she somehow bumbles her way into saving the day maybe? In short: buy Garry's Mod and just download Beatrun. It's nearly the same exact thing with almost the same exact movement, but you can use it on nearly any map you like, including a few taking design cues from Mirror's Edge. You can also just outright play community-made renditions of the biggest thing that Mirror's Edge has going for it, apart from the campaign, entirely for free if you already own Garry's Mod: the trials. If you just want the trials, then there's absolutely no reason at all to even get Mirror's Edge unless you're THAT interested in it. Sure, it's neat seeing this kind of divergent evolution from a popular fad at the time, and it's nice to finally get one of the "white whales" done and dusted, but after going through it myself, I can see why Assassin's Creed remained as popular as it did. At the very least, Faith's Still Alive, and can sit in her rocking chair going "back in my day" with immense pain from all the back-breaking falls and bullet wounds she took, while Ubisoft pillages Desmond's immensely decayed corpse as he watches it all happen from the Agarthan supercomputer prison they've put his spirit in since AC3.
honestly my third favorite game with half life 2 at second and rdr2 at first, I also enjoy it more on steam deck then on pc.

Shame that we will never get a Mirror's Edge 2. Just like how we will never get a Thief 4...
It's a running game and it's great. Immaculate vibes, I could feel the heat just by looking at the sun drenched rooftops. Nothing quite like it since.
