You've been exiled to The Mirk - an unforgiving swampland where every step could be your last. You must constantly make choices: what paths to take, which tree to shelter under, what beasts to engage or avoid, what items to bring into the darkness of dungeons, and what treasures to leave behind.

About
..:: A Turn-Based Survival RPG ::..
Each turn, you must make choices - Spend your Actions Points well.
The swamp might overwhelm you, or harden your survival instincts.
While nature itself will be a challenge, the foes you encounter will be just as formidable.
The combat will be unique and puzzle-like. Weapons will have different attack patterns and effects.
Nights are cold and dangerous. A well-planned camp and enough firewood will increase your chances of survival.
The Mirk is a living place. You will create paths, set up camps, discover ancient ruins and mysteries, all while meeting unique characters and beings.
This game features:
Survival mechanics: Hunger, Focus/Tiredness, Energy and Warmth.
Classic RPG mechanics with skills, abilities, and a wide variety of items, armor and gear. The survival mechanics will play a large part here as well: Your steel chestplate will be great for combat, but not for climbing or keeping warm. Skills will allow for a variety of playstyles: from foraging the land, brewing and selling potions, hunting, exploring and looting, to trading, etc.
Randomly generated terrain, creating unique playthroughs while still integrating handcrafted location, characters and events.
A unique world with interesting lore, enemies, discoveries, and an eerie atmosphere.
Freedom of choice: An optional main story with a decent amount of challenges and quests.
Lastly: This game is under development - details, screenshots and videos will added and/or changed.
Please note: This game is meant to be challenging. You are expected to lose many times, and it will take time to learn how to survive. Dungeons will not be amusement rides designed for the player, but dangerous trials that demand careful preparation. To sum it up: Warding off the darkness with your last dying torch won't be easy — but it should be memorable.

I got wind of this game via Splattercat's video so I already had an idea of what I was in for. That meant that the pause between turns wasn't as much of an irritation for me that it was for others. The menus not remembering the spot I set for them was a little annoying but I can live with that. I do like the unique spin on battling so it has been worth it for the price. What you need to know is that the dark is DARK and trolls hit HARD. Focus some time building up caches for rainy days (which is all of them) and bug meat is life. Dreams of dry socks might be in your future..
Dying from swamp ass has never been so fun.
I've enjoyed it so far. It has a very similar feel to NEO Scavenger, which is good because it's a favourite of mine. The combat mechanics are interesting, and my first death was due to starvation and exposure. Once you figure out the basic loop, the difficulty somewhat goes down. I'm no longer worried about starving to death, or freezing to death, which allowed me to focus more on the story progression instead. There are a few bugs here and there, but they're mostly QOL and minor graphical glitches, most of which are solved by saving and reloading. My only real complaint is I wish there was a few more items that could be crafted by the player. You unlock crafting stations in specific map locations as you progress through the story. However, it would be nice to be able to craft a few more things yourself, like a replacement sleeping pad. I forgot to pick mine up once, and had to spend the entire night repeatedly pressing space bar to pass the time until the sun came up again, because you can't sleep or auto-pass time without it.
It's a really fun game with really interesting mechanics!! I love the sock slot on the equipment tab,it's so fundamental a hiking experience!!! It does however, rain too much in my opinion, it rains at least once or twice per day in the two saves I opened (easy and medium, but rain makes them hard and harder!). Other than that there's a lot of slow walking involved so it would be nicer if the story didn't send you back and forth to the fort all the time ? I do realize this is part of the main thing of the game though, but i thought it was worth mentioning. The art is really nice too, although i'd love some more contrast (I am old and have old eyes). All this said, 10/10 I really have been enjoying it, can't wait to see it finished!
Slow burn even on Easy, due to heavy rain and slips, but very fun and satisfying survival mechanics. 44h spent on just this version of EA and I still haven't done Journal Entry 25 (constant distractions with looting and selling, hehe )
20시간후 엔딩 이런거 좋을지도? 싶으면 사는게 맞음 재밌음
Every Step leads to your death.
eXCESSIVE MICRO-MANAGEMENT, AND i'M A ccrpg FAN.
Truly a hidden gem. Undoubtedly not built for mass-market appeal, but that's what makes it so good to those who are attracted to this kind of thing - its unyielding commitment to its design goals. The art work is beautiful, the gameplay is delicious, and the mechanics are unique and deep. If you like punishing, slow games, I can't recommend this enough. It definitely has some polish that needs to be done, but the dev is active, consistent, and listens to feedback from the community. These are the kinds of games I want to see being supported by the community more.
Loving the game, it has fully sucked me in, hope more gets added.
