The game looks breathtakingly beautiful in action, painting it's derelict locations in vibrant brushstrokes that never tip over into becoming gaudy. Honestly one of the game's I took the most moment to moment screenshots of. Wonderful ambient atmosphere all around, with a wide range between crumbling machines, overgrown gardens, freezing towns and a lot more to explore. It also sounds wonderful, with the variety in boss themes being far more than I expected. And while it's gameplay does not stick the landing at all times, when it does it's wonderfully fast 2D action combat and platforming. In the end, all it's spectacle really caries the experience in a very enjoyable way. I constantly wanted to explore more just to see what was out there. To give a fair warning, a few recurring issues did limit my enjoyment. Mostly the "pull to enemy" skill sometimes whiffing in ways I did no understand, the second half of the game bosses being way more spongy than I enjoy, low enemy variety and never finding a way to counteract the "random story related max health tax" that undermines a lot of the exploration rewards you gather. Still, very much worth giving a spin, had quite a good time with it overall^^ (Also if you are like me, using the "heal one HP when standing on ground for a while" assist feature really made it feel like I am wasting less time running back through half the map to try a hard platforming challenges again xD)

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,419 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

A great game with a beautiful world, really fluid movement and combat and a unique setting. Tarnished by generally ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ platforming-challenge design in the late game. It's generally impossible to sightread a room because a lot of relevant details are off-screen. From the classic blunder of too vertical design where you don't know where you need to fall, from moving blocks imposing cycles that you can't see. Which is sad, because the collection of movement tools is quite interesting. The time-to-double-jump is zero, but the feel of the later upgrades is perfect. Combat is just fast paced enough for me, requiring good usage of movement even if it's button mash otherwise. All in all, very good game despite its frustrations.
If you liked Silksong or Nine Sols, you'll love this. I'm a big fan of platformers, metroidvania, and Soulslikes in general, and this game scratches that itch. It's also way less dark than most, and has a very cozy feel surprisingly, almost like Ori and the Blind Forest but less Disney. Definitely give it a try.
I recommend this game IF you have enough time to practice key combinations. The art style is amaizing, the sounds are great! Sometime kind of fun. Im not recommend this game IF you (like me) have limited game time. I've played hours and hours to learn key kombination and press them with good timing, but Im at that point where going to feels like its not worth it. (limited game time) Jump-hair-hit-walk-jump-hair-hit-walk... This game is just not for me. Give it a try! Maybe its for you!
If you're like me and hated ALttP because you couldn't find the one item you needed for a boss, you'll have a bad time with MIO. I frequently get inexplicably lost in games, and the map design here often requires finding the one specific room needed to progress. Even in just the first 6 hours or so, I probably spent half of my time wandering around checking and double-checking all the visible exits on the map. The basic locomotion feels like it would be interesting in the late-game with all the powerups, but there's really not much going on, and the combat is also pretty plain. There are a lot of things in MIO that seem like they're the way they are because some other games do it that way, so maybe if you're a real Metroidvania fan you'll be fine with those things. The art and music are really gorgeous, so there's definitely something to like here if you can put up with all that. (Steam gives me three different playtime numbers for some reason, maybe some cloud save desync or something, but I had around 6 hours.)
I deeply enjoyed playing through MIO. It's visually stunning and the music is used to great effect. This is one of the few times I was happily invested in a metroidvania's story, despite the lack of many character moments to get me invested in individuals. Learning more about the place I was exploring and then finding absolutely incredible environments that tell a new part of that story was such a brilliant and well-crafted experience. I played the Demo initially, and the slow and floaty controls left me a bit underwhelmed. I think that initial friction just fell away as I got used to it and unlocked more movement. And despite being "floaty", most of the bosses felt like really tight and well done experiences. My primary gripe is actually the lack of bosses later in the game. There are still several bosses that all felt really special, but seemingly the game wanted me to unlock all of my abilities, and then feed me a bunch of platforming gauntlets near the end. While I did enjoy these too (bar my stubbornness resulting in the occasional runback and replaying of difficult sections), they felt back-loaded. I want to give special praise to the boss design. Super interesting and distinct, and it felt like I died a reasonable amount of times to all of them - not something I can say about my experience with some metroidvanias. And of course, visually a treat every time. Overall I really recommend it. Definitely a proud addition to my 100%ed collection!
Very good metroidvania and absolutely gorgeous too. Loved the movement mechanics.
