Portal meets Dark Soul in 2D minecraft.. 10/10 - I will Die again!
I enjoy this game. Initially it is hard, and you need to learn the controls. But once you get the basics, it kinda clicks and you can immediately start enjoying the rolling platform gameplay at a casual pace. I am not playing this as a hardcore speed-runner, but more as a casual platform gamer who likes a challenge. The levels are well-crafted and varied, and the progression is satisfying. It is true that this game can has difficult passages. Many reviews have commented that "I died 1000 times" etc. Some of the puzzles can be hard to get through, because they require both knowledge of the level and skill with the controls. But once you crack the code of a puzzle, and you learn to master it, you get a really satisfying feeling of accomplishment. The game feels like a mix between a puzzle platformer and an old-school Sonic the Hedgehog game.

MineRalph is one of the most unique indie games I've played. It reminds me of the game VVVVVV. It's difficult, but worth the challenge. You play as a boulder, and are on a mission to save your lady. To do so, you must roll as fast and as accurate as you can. Avoid obstacles, and escape death runs against bosses who plan to break your rocky soul. You can also play the game against friends, and see who is the fastest rock of them all! Race to the end of each level, and avoid dying at all costs!
It's really fun, and super frustrating, but in a good way and it looks like there's tons of levels. It's unusual to see a platform game like this play with a mouse, but it works really well. And, even though it's frustrating and incredibly difficult at times, there are checkpoints throughout the levels and you have infinite lives so you can just keep trying again and again until you get it right. This is a good game for people looking for a challenge.

The Short: Play this game if you like speedrunning games, its made for it. Play this game if youre a fan of platform puzzles. Play this game if you need a game you just got a few minutes each day for gaming. Play this game if youre a geologist. The Long: This is one of those games im crap at myself, but cant wait to see speedrunners run through at AGDQ. The basics are simple enough, you "push" a round rock through ever-more-difficult platformer levels, and while the first few levels made me get a feeling of being great at the game, the difficulty quickly ramps up. The artstyle is a pretty pixelart, that still manages well to make the "play area" stand out of from the background, so yo can keep focused. The music in indiegames are often one of the first things i turn off due to the repeating nature, but MineRalph manages to keep the ambient music...well, comfortable. Ill admit i did not finish it. Not because its a bad game, quite the opposite, but because i lack the patience ( and my poor keyboard cant stand any more hitting) That said, i kept finding myself in a "just-one-more-try" mood. Well done Mineralph. The game is made for speedrunning, with individual level leaderboards for best times, death counters, and at the time of this review, theres even a tournament running where the fastest runner can win a money prize.
Great game. Movement feels really weird at first, but then you get used to it and you fly through the levels. The difference between controller and mouse is not too big, only mattering on a few of the later levels. The challenges are really hard but really rewarding and theres a lot of cool skins. Devs are also really nice :)
NICE GAME
