I cannot stop playing this game. Challenging combat, rewarding exploration, great progression systems. Very unique. Obviously an homage to all those older games somewhere between the NES and SNES eras, but it becomes much larger and brings in so much to make its own style. It's got some of the bones of A Link to the Past and yet it plays nothing like a Zelda game - it is something else entirely and I am all about it. I just entered what I think is the final zone, but I suspect I'll be playing for a while longer yet as I'm only at 63% completion as far as the collection progress goes.

This is, in general, one of the most thoughtfully designed games I've played. Every single aspect of it from start to finish has an extreme amount of polish and forethought put into it. That being said, I can see the difficulty being a turn off for some. I've played a fair number of difficult games and the late game for this really frustrated me at some points. The game's excellent design counter-balanced this for me however, and I can definitely see myself playing this again and again, as I have shovel knight and its spinoffs.
