Crim's Humble Opinion Curator
Who's A Good Boy?
Milo's Quest is a cute 2d top-down game that mixes zelda inspiration with sokobon (box pushing) puzzles. You play as Milo; a dog who has accidentally awoken skull king along with his ghost army because he picked up a tasty looking green bone. The colors are vibrant. The levels are diverse in aesthetics. One of the nice things about this game is the variety of play styles it has to adjust to your preferred difficulty. There are three modes. One mode has only the puzzles, one has only the adventure aspects which is probably just the fighting, and the primary mode combines both. You can also choose to play on three different difficulties. The game encourages speed running since there is a toggle for time in the options. There's a few types of enemies and few types of bosses with their own unique flair and abilities. The chiptune music is pretty nice and fitting as well.
The Minor Gripes
The game and mechanics are fun enough but honestly I was hoping for just a bit more when it came to upgrades, unlockables, and secrets. At the very least a map would be nice. There is still a nice amount of stuff to find but it would have been cool to have varied attacks or abilities. Your only attack is a dash attack which can be a bit finicky at times. Enemies require two hits which isn't a problem but you have to make sure to be extra cautious with your only attack. If you dash into an enemy and don't back away after the connect there is a pretty high chance you're going to take damage from attacking. Some of the dialogue is a bit rough on the translation but it's understandable.

(っ◔◡◔)っ ♥ pros ♥
+Retro and cute color scheme +Diverse variety of worlds and enemies +Highly adjustable difficulty and preference
(っ>▬<)っ x cons x
-Sacrificial attacks happen often -Could use more variety of attacks and powerups
For my first little run through on normal difficulty with puzzles and adventure it took me right under two hours to complete. I may pick it up again sometime and try out the other modes and difficulties. If anything I may try my hand at a speed run at some point just to see how it goes. It's a nice little title if you're itching for games in this genre. Doesn't bring much new except a different coat of paint; but it's still enjoyable to see. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2181533477 𝕀𝕗 𝕐𝕠𝕦 𝔼𝕟𝕛𝕠𝕪 𝕋𝕙𝕚𝕤 𝕋𝕣𝕪 https://store.steampowered.com/app/316610/A_Good_Snowman_Is_Hard_To_Build/
It's a combination of the Action-RPG, Sokoban style puzzles with classic Metroidvania exploration. Help Milo defeat the King Old Skull, who wants to turn everyone into ghosts! Gameplay: https://youtu.be/fk-6Tevp5DA Find a full arsenal of special items that add new skills, increase health and stamina. Overall, I would absolutely recommend. It’s charming, cute and perfect for all ages. The game is best played using a gamepad. + Cute dog. + Nice visual style and music. + The game is suitable for all ages. + Simple gameplay that does not require training. + Puzzles and boss battles. + Various abilities and items. + Achievements. - No puzzle reset button. (You have to leave the location and go back so that the stones return to their original position.) [u]You can read other reviews and subscribe to our curators. Full review at: https://thegamehoard.com/2020/09/04/milos-quest-pc/ Milo’s Quest is a brisk little journey whose main appeal is its cuteness, and its character design and pixel art locations ensure that is delivered on even if there’s not much to the adventure. Being able to choose the game’s genre is a nifty feature, but the game is best played in the combined mode despite the fact the puzzles and ghost fighting action never get so complex that they ever become more than okay. Milo’s Quest is far too plain if you remove one half of its gameplay, but going between fighting and pushing blocks on a regular basis means this breezy little adventure is a fine way to spend a small bit of time even if it’s rather unexceptional. Milo’s Quest is a plain but pleasant little title that doesn’t ask much from you but doesn’t give back much in return either. Most of what the game offers is seen in the first area and it does about all it wants to by the time the two to three hour experience wraps up, so besides the little issues with the dash attack, Milo’s Quest ends up a fine but rather basic adventure. In the mixed mode, it provides enough that it doesn’t grow stale, but the fact neither the combat or the puzzles are hearty enough to really carry things well on their own is sort of telling for what kind of adventure it truly is. Milo’s Quest falls pretty squarely into the kind of snack-style gaming where it’s fine to pick up and play for a bit if you want something small that you don’t have to invest a lot of time into, but it doesn’t provide much that would make you want to go out of your way to get it.
Cute zelda like RPG with casual difficulty. Works very well with a controller. The sokoban puzzles are quite easy and the game can be completed in 2-3 hours. The game could have used a reset puzzle button or something because the movement of boxes is janky at times and leaving the room and re-entering it to reset the puzzle also respawns the enemy units in the room that you have to kill again before you can start the puzzle again.
it's a bit too simple at times, but the very cute graphics and speedy gameplay make this a mini retro throwback worth checking out.
Me encantó el juego!
