Pretty nice. Works very similar to games like "luck be a landlord", except you choose your militia (add single actors per round) that all get shuffled and then randomly distributed over a limited playing field. As with other games of the genre, you need to build synergies between certain actors and while there is certainly an RNG element here, so far, it seems very well balanced. Certain synergies are built by adjacency alone, while others hinge on transforming, destroying or even preventing the destruction of certain pieces. There are so many possibilities here and the satisfaction for pulling off some obscure synergy that melts through a 10k boss in two rounds is real. I played the free demo on armorgames website and really liked it, so I finally remembered the game and bought it in an instant. It is really fun and the first hour passed by in a breeze. Definitely a recommend from me. The weird and often silly tone of the game add to the fun, especially the description of most of the bosses. For 10 bucks, I think this is a steal, but then again, go play the free demo on armorgames if you don't believe me and try for yourself. It's a fairly long demo too. Really cool idea from the dev, while the genre is nothing new, the idea for this particular game and the disigns around the core idea definitely make it stand out.

I like the premise of the game pretty well-- It is effectively Luck be a Landlord, but re-framed to be about a monster militia instead of a slot machine. The thing that eventually put me off, though, is that I just think the difficulty is tuned up too high. The big appeal of a game like this (and in fact one of its advertising points) is finding which units synergize with others to help you rack up massive point combos. But in this one, it feels like the developer tried to prevent as many overpowered strategies from emerging as possible. I could see many units and unit combinations that have the POTENTIAL to become overpowered, but then those units have a hard cap on how many times they can be used before they just disappear. On top of that, there are very limited options for luck manipulation when it comes time to add a new unit to your "deck." You'll be shown a choice of 6, with exactly 1 reroll, and sometimes the reroll shows you some of the same units as your first roll. Sometimes your choices are limited to the "common" rarity pool with none of the higher rarities showing up, and sometimes that's actually beneficial to your build, but other than that you don't have much influence on the choices you're given, and a run just ends due to not being offered anything that helps your build. I wrote this review after playing over a dozen unsuccessful runs in a row, and in a game where luck is such a pivotal factor, I'd prefer to play something that's more generous to the player. The game could benefit from more variety, like if some of the enemies had differences beyond their name and appearance, or again if there were more ways to manipulate your luck or units offered. The UI could also use some work. For example, sometimes a unit's description says that it transforms into a different unit or creates another unit; Could really use a pop-up describing what those other units are. I may give it another chance one day, but as of now I think I hit the tipping point from fun to frustration.

The game consistently 'soft locks' during missions, the character logic and behaviour is inconsistent which severely impacts game play, but after 36 hours of putting up with this, the final straw is the game has just overwritten my save game, reset all progress and I have to start over... The first time was a pain but I didn't know what to expect. Now I know exactly what I need to do for 36 hours just to get back to where I am now, and I am not going through it again...
Pretty fun if you like this style of game! I do think the graphics aren't as readable as something like Luck Be a Landlord though, which can slow the gameplay down a little. But there's some fun strategy to be found here!
Game is really fun but maaaaan my slow PC makes me double click from time to time and since the button Main menu is right beneath the button Next Boss I end up killing my runs by just missclicking XDDD
Great spin on Luck Be a Landlord. Even better than that game.
Цікава концепція, але забагато рандому, яка повністю руйнує стратегічну складову у довгих забігах. Як ітог - просто спамиш декілька вдалих комбо.
Super fun!!
Good game but needs cloud saves please!
